What will be the 5th theme park in WDW? This year be brought up in about 10 years from now (stated in Presslers interview). It's never early to start dreaming! My ideal 5th parks is like a history/American park with like History on one side and America on one side. After all America derserves to have a half a park decided to her because WDW is on her soil.
It *weine* or like tree of like, castle and spaceship earth will be something that the whole world can relate to, maybe a big globe of the world.
Peace Out

I'm hoping its an American version of Disney Sea. I don't see it being an American park.... Disney America (American Adventure) is rumored to be a different site alltogether.

I heard of a American Adventure in virginia, I think Disney shouldn't expand there parks in any more areas in the US, it will just make things confusing and it will be a Six Flags thing going on and the rides and theming will lost its touch. I want to see a 5th park take its time and open when its best to open, dont rush it. I would like a Disneysea with more marine animals to compete with Sea World, that would be great. Thats all I could really think of at the moment, I just love the way Disney is now. They should work on the parks they have now instead of planning new parks.

Not only to compete with Sea World... but to have a section on water-wildlife... AK seems to forget about them (even though 2/3 of the planet is covered by water....)

I am really excited by the idea of Disney Sea, so if there is a 5th park I'd go with that. But I'd be quite happy for them to continue to improve and expand on the parks they already have, there is plenty of expansion room available, so I would like them to do this first.

Would everyone rather see them build the DisneySea park later, or just build all the attractions from that park in the existing 4 parks?

I have always thought an American/U.S. park would be appropriate. I will probably never have the opportunity to travel the country. But imagine riding through the White House seeing all of the floors with the Blue Room, Red Room, and even the basements (where you'll never see that on a regular tour), and imagine not having to wait in line at the real White House or having to obtain tickets from our congressmen. A scaled down version of the Statue of Liberty, Mayflower, Mt. Rushmore etc. Just imagine the possibilities...................

A Disney America park is rumored to be in Virginia or Texas. I would like to see it in Virginia (probably the most American State).

This was proposed many (10?) years ago, and as I recall, there was lots of opposition on the Virginia site. I don't think Disney could get enough land; people just weren't willing to sell. Also, when Disney came to Florida, they hit at an opportune time to buy up lots of land cheaply in a very temperate area, and had the support of local government (in general). Land prices in Virginia are still relatively high; I'm not sure about Texas.

speaking as a dwarf, i would like to see "it's a small world" on a much bigger scale. maybe it can be built in smallville or littleton or weesconsin.

alternatively, i think bringing the disney sea concept stateside would be really cool. as long as it goes anywhere but texas, which has got to be one of the ugliest, most unfriendly places in the world. how about a disney cancun? (it's not a u.s. state, but it's sort of like miami.)

Yes, the people in the area they were looking to put it in VA were very opposed to the idea. As far as I know the plans for that park anywhere are pretty much dead at this point... As for the land in FL, there were three things that went into Disney getting that land for so cheap. For one, the land in central Florida just wasn't worth very much. It was all pretty much swamp life or farm land. As someone else stated, they also had the cooperation and support of the state. The biggest factor though, was the secrecy. Most of the land that Disney purchased was done in such a way so that nobody would be aware of who was buying it. As soon, as the announcement was made, (partially because it was starting to leak anyway) the price of land in the area skyrocketed. Fortunately, Disney had already made sizable purchase at that point and didn't have to buy much more at the extremely high prices. Just think though, if they had been able to keep buying land for next to nothing... I wonder how much they could have ended up with...

Oh, and just to keep this on topic, I think they need to continue to focus on what they've got. AK, while a wonderful park seems to disappoint a lot of people with the smaller number of attractions. MGM which has grown quite a bit since opening still could stand to go a litter further and MK & Epcot could stand some more updating - simple but not necessarily cheap things like a new movie for France and Norway (the current ones show their age by the fashion of the people and the signs of technology represented in them) Updated animatronics for some of the Pirates in POC... I'm not thinking anything major, mostly just keeping up with the times for everything... Course, that doesn't do much to bring in more people though so the stuff I would like to see done is probably a very low priority.

I'm sure land prices had a big influence on the decision not to go to Virginia, but I think the Busch family had something to do with it too. They were probably scared stiff at the though of Disney coming in and stealing customers. Some people argued that they didn't want a big tourist area there but then you've got Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, Water Country USA, Yorktown and there's one other one I can't think of, that are milking that area for all its worth. Those places are nice but it's still not Disney.

I think that's exactly the point. Disney would be capable of attracting global attention to a degree that the current parks could never hope to see. Speaking as a person from Florida where tourism is very high, I can honestly say that it does help the economy by providing an abundance of jobs. The only problem is that the vast majority of them are low wage jobs. A boon in an otherwise peaceful area can lead to a drop in property value for residents as well as increases in crime caused by a higher level of low income residents. The residents in that area that are doing fine with what is there now, may not be looking for all the extra tourist traffic and all the headaches that most people don't realize it can bring.

I've got an idea but many would think it was a ripoff of islands of adventure. It would be based around about five islands each based on a different disney hero vs villain.
each island would have a trade mark and as the park symbol they would all combine. The lands are

scarr island.

symbol-pride rock

rides.
river ride inside caves
more work needed in this area any ideas

cruela island
symbol-spotted big ben

rides.
wild mouse coaster-mouse cars themed as spotted dogs.
mini version of dumbo(but dogs) for the kids
rota drop inside big ben

zuess and herculees island-

symbol-gient piller or dome

rides
the big baby of the park a triple steel roller coaster-yellow,red,and purple.
herculees 3d-taken out of disneyquest to make room for new attraction
similer ride to indiana jones at disney land
herculees show

So far i've only worked on them three, any more ideas or improvements?

Also, I seriously doubt that the Busch Entertainment Corporation has the clout to singlehandedly stop DIsney from going anywhere... In many ways Disney could even be good for them, sort of the way it's been good for all the other parks that have sprung up in the Orlando area after Disney.
