OK, lets talk cutbacks and lowered quality at DLR-

Every department is under pressure to make do with less, while bringing in more. That's why food portions and prices have been affected.

I vote with the precious few dollars I have, and I won't spend them in the park anymore. I go and enjoy the park and bring protein bars.

You guys Shanghai has nothing to do with it. My insiders (meaning my inside voices) tell me that the rise of Donald Trump is the real reason things have gone to pot at the DLR.
I already told you Trump is doing the bidding of soul stealing Grays that live on the dark side of the moon. Hillary on the other hand is nothing more than a high priestess Reptilian from the hollow Earth. Shanghai is Iger's way of telling Constance to stop making AAs of him when she can have the real thing.

LOL I've just canceled my order.

SO, I hate to preach micechat BS here, but man, the difference I saw last night was night and day.

All valid points.

But did you ask to speak with the manager during your meal? Or at the very least, did you take two minutes to send a quick email to Disneyland via the Contact Us link on Disneyland.com?

If you didn't do at least one of those things, you gave TDA your money and two thumbs up for the experience you received in the park. Posting all that info here does absolutely nothing but generate some chit-chat among friends.

Do they actually read the emails? I have some thoughts.

One of the things that's really annoyed me on recent visits is the sheer amount of Star Wars crap in all the stores. I'm pretty sure I even saw some Star Wars piece of junk in the Pieces of Eight store, which is completely and utterly unrelated. They just have no shame, do they? To me, this is an issue. You see, I do like to shop at Disneyland because, picky as I am, I can still find some awesome stuff on a regular basis. But when they're cluttering up every location with Frozen, Star Wars and Marvel crap, it's like, what the heck? They used to retire the Nightmare Before Christmas garbage from the cart outside Haunted Mansion when it was the classic version. Not anymore! Ugh. Yep, I'm complaining about this. You see, to locate my lovely HM art print, I had to sift through approximately 3721 completely unrelated Star Wars prints. Get those atrocious "Chewie, we're home" t-shirts out of my face! I'm shopping for non-crap here! To me, this is lowering the quality of even something like silvenir shopping.

In my own past experiences, you get your point across stronger and get your message 'heard' better when you use postal mail instead.
E-mails can easily be ignored, but physical mail has a added benefit of actually being 'heard'.

Write a well thought out letter on paper ( not just 'grumpy moaning' ).
Keep it short, sweet, to the point. Express your concerns tastefully and professionally.
Send your contact info along with it ( full name, address, phone number, etc. ) if you wish to hear back from someone and feel comfortable giving that info out.
Chances are if you do, You WILL hear back from someone directly.

Now that you have written your concerns, fold it neatly and put it in a envelope.
Lick a stamp or two in it, and mail it to a active address headed by a persons name ( not just a general 'Guest Relations' address ).
Give your message a few days to arrive to its destination ( a week+ if mailed outside of the US ) then sit back and wait.
You may well be surprised who you eventually hear back from.

I have sent messages to the Disney Company three times over the last few years, two actual real letters / mailings and one e-mailed message.
The two postal mailed 'real' letters were responded to by a phone call from the then VP of Epcot ( 2007 ) and a amazing written response from a well known name from WDI in Glendale ( 2013 ).
The e-mailed message i sent was responded to by a Guest Relations CM with a typical 'generic' response ( 2009 ).

Who would you rather hear back from...or more importantly, who would you rather have reading your concerns..?

:)

I have to agree with you on the abundance of star wars and marvel crap they have. I collect Star Wars figures and Disney stores never have any of that. Most stuff is old stock that has been discounted at Target months ago. No newer waves are ever available. They have a lot of Disney store Star Wars crap like the PCV figures and talking 12" figures but that isn't what I want. Occasionally they will have special build a droids but that is pretty rare. That Star Wars stuff in Launch Bay is always 25% more than retail direct from the manufacturer. Why would I buy that there when I can buy online? Why can't they just have quality, one of a kind, stuff or at least a decent Captain Hook hat with a big feather and my name on it?

I have to agree with the last couple of posts regarding the overkill of 'Star Wars' merch cluttering up the shops.
Totally agree.

I like Star Wars....a do...and have some collectibles.
But when I visit Disneyland, I would much rather see 'Star Tours' specific merchandise instead of stuff I can get elsewhere..including the Disney Store.
Hey, I thought that Disney Store stuff was supposed to be just that....'Disney Store Exclusive'...!
Pfft...lies!

Last visit I finally actually found a neat, Park specific item related to 'Star Tours'.
A small die cast vehicle of the updated Star Speeder.
I was pleased to see it in the sea of mediocrity.

I don't care if I hear back, but I would like my concerns to be read by someone higher up the ladder than an hourly CM. What is the proper mailing address?

I won't mention it in my communication to Disney but strollers are a boil on the butt of the parks. :)

DLR is still fresh and exciting for me. Must have something to do with the attitude I have when I arrive at the park. If you don't have fun on your vacation/day in the park, then I believe it's your own fault. Otherwise why do you visit? By the way, MC does not have a monopoly on negativity.

I can bet none of us go to the parks looking for issues. That's ridiculous, but we can't help that we notice things.

Nothing in life is perfect, and that includes the theme parks. There is plenty of magic at the parks to forget the outside world, and I always have a wonderful time. Attitude has a lot to do with. I guess I go just enough to keep the magic alive, and not too much to water it down.

I always have a wonderful time too, but part of that wonderful time means I don't spend $30 on a sized down counter service meal. There's a lot right at all Disney parks, but that doesn't mean fans shouldn't call them out on damaging practices.

There is definitely a happy medium. I don't think the prices are any worse at Disney compared to other similar excperiences. We have a minor league baseball team near by we go see once a year or so, and buying food there is just as much, and the quality is worse for the most part. But at the same time, I don't want to spend money on crap either, and if they are serving crap, I'm not going to buy it.
