This is probably the closest you'll get.

Yep, and it's got a big ol' character right smack dab in the middle of it. *sigh*

I'm not a character t-shirt type of person really, so I don't own any Disney t-shirts, but my kids have some Disney clothes. My cheapness prevents me from buying any of them at the DLR. You can literally get the same types of shirts at Target for a fraction of the price. Target clearance rack has become my drug of choice. When we go on a trip to the DLR, my kids like to wear Disney t-shirts. I keep my eye on the clearance rack at Target who carries plenty of Disney branded clothing, and get shirts for them throughout the year on clearance. I usually pay $5 or less.

You said you wanted "Disneyland" on the shirt though. That's the best you got with no characters.

Well yeah I want Disneyland, but I also said I don't want it embellished with all the other details. A place with such a strong recognizable brand should offer a simple tee with it cleanly emblazoned across the front. For me this is symbolic of what's wrong with the merchandise at the parks. It's all too over designed and geared towards kids or character fans.

I have a t-shirt with the old Disneyland logo on it. I have worn it so much, it is not something I wear to the parks anymore. I think I bought it during the 50th. I agree that the choices are grim. When I do shop, which is rarely. The stuff I like is too pricey, and the rest of it is just not "me".

You guys have to visit the Disney outlet store in Pomona. This is where all the stuff the resort closes out is sold at a big discount. Its off the 60 about a half hour from Disneyland.

I thought it closed...it is/was at the intersection of the 60/71 right? We stopped going there as we heard they all shut down...and last time we were there, they really had a hodge podge of garbage. Will have to stop by there, maybe this weekend if still open.

Edit: I just researched and appears that all of the stores closed in 2012...Pomona, Anaheim and Vegas. They were renamed Character Outlet a few years ago but didn't survive. I distinctly remember the Anaheim folks telling me that Disney cut back significantly on what they would sell the outlets which explained why the got so much non-disney merch in.

Yes, my shirt is a light blue gray. I wear it around the house a lot now. You can tell how old it is.

When my husband and I visit the Dells, their Disney Store has a Disneyland section. I have bought some Disneyland specific merchandise there. I also got some really cute hooded sweatshirts, and thermals. Great prices.

I remember the days when we first visited WDW, and we didn't have to pay to check a bag. I always shopped a bit back then, and came back with some great stuff. That was about 12 years ago.

There is now a Disney Outlet store in the Citadel Outlet center (the former Uniroyal Tire Factory) right next to I-5 in Commerce.
