Well, Home on the Range has a darn good villain, if I do say so myself. :)

Treasure Planet had a great villain...a villain with depth, heart, and soul...as well as a bad streak ;)

Okay, saw Brother Bear (and Elf) over the long weekend. Here are thoughts (and they will remain appropriate to the various drifts in the thread):

BB does deserve some sort of attraction. Rapids... maybe, but I am thinking more of a river ride along the lines of Pirates. (Dark Ride/Water Ride would be great for AK).

Both Brother Bear and Elf were crowded. Elf was very good, but it is EXTREMELY Christmas oriented. I'm not expecting a lot of news right now but December might be a different story. Both movies were very well reserved by everyone in the both theaters (from what I could gather).

Brother Bear does have a good villian, and it's probably more adventurous than any Disney has had before. Believe me, when Kentai's brother would come around I was amazed at the sureirony that Disney was pushing with the situation. Great movie. Lots of heart.

That's exactly what I was thinking. You would board a pirates-style boat, but more rugged and "log-like", and go through different scenes (brothers, koda, rutt and tuke, mammoths, bears fishing) that tell the story. At the top of the first hill, you would see Kenai transform into a bear while the boat rotates (a'la maelstrom) and falls backwards down the mountain. When he is turned back into a person at the end, you would turn around again, resulting in a big drop that would go outside the building. I think it would be a perfect fit for AK and DCA, and provide what they both need so desperately-- Dark Rides and Disney Characters.

Great idea Jusjuice. I was thinking something along the same lines, but with more of a spiderman type technology (not necessarily the vehicles themselves...logs (or kayaks like the movie) could be used with lifters as Jusjuice suggested ). But, how cool would it be to introduce some 3D into the ride. For example, it would completely rock if your vehicle felt as if it was being picked up and spun around by the spirits with Kenai as he transforms. Or, what if you were drifting through the samon run and some bears run over your vehicle trying to catch some samon. Real running water over rock formations, animatronic bears sing "welcome to our family time" and some 3D in your face. I can just see the ending where Coda appears to land on the front of your vehicle and waves goodbye as he jumps off to catch up with Kenai as "On my way plays".

I'm sure Disney wouldn't fork out the cash for something like this, but I can't help from thinking big...long live imagineering :D

Why Did They Do That!?!

Anyone know why Disney decided to release BB on Saturday!?! IMO...that was a bad move. It lost the #1 position by only a few thousand and I think that's because it lost that extra day in the box office.

So far it seems like Elf and Matrix are not going to meet expectations. My cousin said Elf sucks and I really don't want to see if though I am a huge Will fan. But it is not Old School Will, it is PG rated Will (not good. No were going Streaking.) I haven't watched one Matrix film, but the word around the water cooler is they did too much talking again, and not enough fighting. If that seeks to you Neo-heads, great. We went to BB on opening weekend and it was packed. We have two theaters in town. A newer bigger one, and the older smaller one. They put it in the crappy one the first weekend, then switched it the next. I guess they were scared of Treasure Planet numbers. I tell ya what Disney movie I am really looking forward to, The Alamo. Getting Ron Howard on board will make this huge. I think we are going to have to wait till spring. Buzz on Cat in the Hat---->OVERHYPED, according to Maxim goes to the moives, it is not going to be too great.

Well it is certainly true that Matrix Revolutions is underperforming at the box office. And I think it's a shame too because I feel it is the best movie of the series and it is one of my all time favorite action movies. Anyone that tells you that Revolutions doesn't have enough action watched a different movie than I did. Revolutions has more action and fight scenes than the first two Matrix films (probably combined). I mean there has to be some dialogue in the film but this one DEFINATELY delivered on the action.

I liked Elf alot too (except for the extemely sappy ending and the fact Will Ferrell was hardly in the last 30 minutes). Elf is also the surprise hit of the season. This has got a chance to crack 200 million (which is unbelievableept for the extemely sappy ending and the fact Will Ferrell was hardly in the last 30 minutes). Elf is also the surprise hit of the season. This has got a chance to crack 200 million (which is unbelievable).

I also do not have high hopes for Cat in the Hat. I am a huge Mike Myers fan (especially Austin Powers and Wayne's World) but this film just looks plain weird to me. I don't know maybe it's just being true to the story somewhat but I don't think I'll like it too much.

In closing I feel I need to state again that I honestly feel that Revolutions is the best Matrix movie and one of the best action films I've seen in a while. Don't let the bad buzz keep you away.
