Disney has a restaurant to cater to all tastes and every price range. It is a LOT more than just hamburgers and hot dogs although that is certainly available. As I have said before, eating at Disneyworld is not a cheap thing, but I have found that a moderate sit down restaurant tends to be your best bet dollar for dollar. All of the restaurants and the menus for them are also available at
WWW.Allearsnet.COM under the Dining section. There is a listing on your left hand side called the Menus. That is it. These are menus that are supplied by people who have gotten copies of the menus and Disney does change them periodically so a dish or two may have been added or changed since the last update.
Priority Seating (almost like a reservation) can be made before you leave home by calling 1-407 WDW- DINE. In most of the restaurants that I will recommend it is very difficult, if not impossible to get a seating without a priority seating. This is especially true in the parks. Restaurants at the resorts are not nearly as difficult but Id make the PS anyhow. ok so now as to my recommendations for restaurants. I havent hit every place as of yet so if I dont mention someplace, it is just that I or someone I know has not eaten there. I am not going to include hot dog or hamburger places unless they truly stand out. I have very rarely been dissappointed at Disneyworld, so if something appeals to you, try it!!!
Magic Kingdom:
Cinderella's Royal Table: I highly recommend this place for any meal, they serve breakfast lunch and dinner. Breakfast has the princesses walking around and is an all you can eat meal served to your table. It is VERY tough to get and usually PS are made approximately 2 months in advance. I recently had dinner there also and it was wonderful.
Crystal Palace: Also serves all three meals although I have only gone here for the Character breakfast with Pooh & Friends. A good breakfast served buffet style with a made to order omlet station. One of the better buffets.
Liberty Tree Tavern: I have only gone here for dinner which is also a charcter meal. It is an all you care to eat served family style to your table. The meal consists of turkey, sliced steak, and smoked pork chops along with stufrfing mashed potatoes etc. Good meal and a nice value. They also serve an alacarte lunch, which I have heard is good.
Tony's Town Square: Good for lunch or dinner, I have had both. The big draw for this restaurant is the location of it. This restaurant is ideal to watch the 3 pm parade which is held every day or the Spectromagic parade which is only every so often ( See Disneyworld.com, Parks, Park Hours section for schedule) Request an outdoor table and you will be a few feet higher than the crowds on Main Street.
EPCOT; Generally EPCOT doesn’t have any great places for breakfast so you are probably better off elsewhere for that, but lunch and dinner here cant be beat. That is due to the 11 countries around World Showcase all of whom have at least one sit down restaurant. I have eaten in most of them and found most to be very good. All of them have a different style and type of food and the people in any given pavilion are usually from that country.
I haven’t been to Mexico or Norway as of yet. Norway recently got a Character breakfast with the Princesses but I have no idea how it is as I haven’t gotten to it yet.
Biergarten: good German buffet You must like German food to enjoy this
Chef De France: I wasn’t thrilled by the food or the selection, but I don’t care for French food.
Coral Reef:: I have heard great things about this restaurant, but it can be pricey. I haven’t eaten there personally.
L’Originale Ristorante Di Alfredo: I wasn’t thrilled with this Italian restaurant and found it to be very pricey.
Le Cellier: Steakhouse in Canada which is awesome. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Nine Dragons: Good Chinese food but similar to what we can get up here.
Restaurant Marrakesh: Interesting Morrocan food. I wasn’t very adventurous but what I had was good (Lemon chicken) Nice lamb dishes also.
Rose & Crown: United Kingdom restaurant, limited menu but very good prime rib and chicken dishes. Great view for Illuminations at 9 pm request an outdoor table for this.
Teppanyaki Grill: Great Japanese restaurant, very similar to Benihana here in NYC. A touch pricey but I felt it was worth it.
MGM:
Mama Melrose: I didn’t care for this restaurant at all. The smoked wood oven flavor seemed to get into all of the food. I didn’t care for it, but they have a pretty decent menu.
Hollywood Brown Derby; Great food but not large portions and very pricey.
50’S prime Time Café: Great food, reasonable prices and great atmosphere Probably one of my favorite places to eat on property. I highly recommend this restaurant..
Hollywood & Vine- Buffet type of restaurant with characters. Cute for breakfast.
In MGM Do not miss Fantasmic.
Animal Kingdom:
Donald’s Prehistoric Breakfastasourous- Really cute character meal with Donald & Friends in the Animal Kingdom
Tusker House- For lunch or dinner has a nice variety of food but fast food types. Not bad though
Downtown Disney:
Bongos- Fabulous Cuban restaurant owned by Gloria & Emilio Estefan. Great Portions, reasonable prices, and some fabulous music.
Fulton’s Crab House- Probably the best seafood place on WDW property, but it is also pricey.
Resort Restaurants that stand out:
Boatwrights @ Port Orleans Riverside- Great ala carte Breakfast in a quiet atmosphere
Boma @ Animal Kingdom Lodge- Wonderful Buffet breakfast
Polynesian- Ohana’s All you can eat served to your table. Great ambiance & food.
