Hello,Going to the Kingdom 4-29 to 5-8 Looking to eat at OHANA.on the 4-29 Which fireworks show can you see from there? Do the fireworks happen everynight? Would a 7pm priority seating be a good time to go? Any and all suggestions would be helpful. Getting a little over whelmed with all the planning but also enjoying it. Thanks!

You won't want to get a seat any more than an hour before the fireworks, really. Go to www.disneyworld.com and click on the little CALENDAR. You can check hours and show times for APRIL and MAY now. Once you know which night you're eating there, figure out when the fireworks will be and book an hour or so before that.

If you book to early in the evening, you'll have to sit at your table until the show...and that can get really boring. If you're not dining there, you can't just go stand in front of people who are to see the show.

We just got back from WDW and we ate Dinner at OHANA during the wishes show. Even though we wer enot right on the glass we had a great vantage point of the show. When booking my dining I would put in the request to have a seat with a view as there are seats in the resturant with no view of MK. It is definitly a treat though

For my trip in May, Wishes isn't showing until 10:30pm on the day i'm eating at 'Ohana so I made the PS at 8pm and after dinner, we are going to sit on the beach at Poly and watch Wishes. - Stephanie

Ate there Sunday night.

Not all tables will have a good view even if you are facing the MK. The volcano pool blocks some of the view. Also the totem??? poles block some views if not sitting right next to the glass.

I was on the outside row, right next to the logs and the kitchen area. I had a pretty good view, but the poles/volcano blocked some of the fireworks.

thank you for your help

how easy is it to get to OHANA. We are staying off site at HIFS and was wondering how long it will take to get there?

When I made my PS, the CM said to allow an hour transportation time from my hotel onsite.

Maybe you could go to 'Ohana after a day at the MK, that would be easy. -Stephanie

Only 1/2 a Show

While you can see "Wishes" from O'hana and the resort beaches, you really miss out on half of it without the music. While it will be nice to see the fireworks while eating or relaxing at your hotel, I urge you to be in the park for at least one performance.

Definitely agree about seeing at least once in the park, but Ohana's did play the music for the fireworks.

I think the first viewing of Wishes definitely needs to be in the park. I took my family and some friends to the top of the Contemporay on Saturday. They were all seeing it for the first time. I don't know about Ohana's, but on the roof of Contemp. the music was barely audible, and we weren't even that far away from the speaker. Also, you had to watch two different places, the castle, and way off to the right of the castle. My family and friends were not exactly "wowed" by Wishes as I hoped they would be. I know they would have been had we been on Main Street, but we'll do that next time.

Hey, I plan on making PS here. How was the food? Were you able to get a seat for two? That sounds really nice to be able to see Wishes and eat dinner at the same time. :)

Hey Pluto, I loved Ohana's ad think it is certainly one of the nicer restaruants. Go there hungry though, as it is a one price all you care to eat style restaurant. All the sirloin steak, turkey breast, pork loin and tiger shrimp you want along with Polynesian style sides ( salad with oriental dressing, friend rice, shrimp & veggie wontons, stir friend veggeis etc) And the dipping sauces they give you for the meats are awesome!!! Hope you enjoy it!!! Belle

Sitting on the beach at the Poly is one of our favorite places to watch the fireworks.

If it is for your honeymoon Id probably go a bit more special and look into the Californis Grill on top of the Contemporary. They are 15 floors up and do dim the lights and pipe in the music for Wishes. I just think this is a little more special than Ohana's. I think Ohana's is pretty great too but not what I would classify as romantic!! I think Narcoosee's at the Grand Floridian does the same thing, but my connection for that is at Disney right now so I really cant get a hold of her to ask, but I will when I speak to her this weekend. There are a lot of restaurant choices for more adult, romantic dinners. Is this what you were looking for? something more fun perhaps? If you can give me a better idea of the overall flavor that you are looking to have, I can make some more suggestions. Belle

Thanks so much for your help Belle, who says us New Yorkers aren't helpful
I think I'll try CG also. We'll be there for 2 weeks so we have lots of time to eat at plenty of places. Being that its my Honey's first time to WDW, I'm trying to stay away from what I normally do when I'm there with my family (burger's and fries and the occational slice of pizza  )As far as GF..I've never felt really comfortable there...feels kinda 'stuffy' to me.
Maybe I'll save CG for his birthday because we'll still be there for that. Is this a good choice or is there something better to celebrate his BD???
OH! and is there anyway I can have sparkling wine or something like that delivered to our room..I wanna surprise him. :D :D

Hey PlutoFan!!! In Disney if you can dream it ( and pay for it) you can do it!!! Im sure they can arrange a bottle of sparkling wine or something similar!!! Which hotel are you staying at?
I know what you mean about the GF. I kinda feel that way myself!!! I am not into the whole stuffy thing. Give me my shorts ( or jeans depending on the season) t shirt, and my sneakers and I Am good to go. I dont bring dresses or anything dressy at all!!! I know what you mean about the hamburger and hotdog thing, I am not much on it myself. I have that maybe for a snack in the middle of the day. The rest of the time I eat VERY well thank you!!! I usually go for sit down type dinners ( and breakfasts) at a moderate to higher moderate prices. Ill see if I can find my write up on the restaurants and post it here or PM it to you!!! I have a ton listed in all different areas of Disney. And if you have any questions, please ask. If I dont know ( which shouldnt be much!!) I can call our own Kingdom Konsultant ( The travel agent sponsor for these website!) Pam and ask her. She is a great source of information. If she doesnt know ( doubtful!!) she has a contact at Disneyworld!!! We will definitely get you an answer!!! Belle

There is a company, Gifts of a Lifetime that does wonderful things. Their website is www.giftsofalifetime.com. Write to Jane and she can arrange all kinds of things from wine/champagne delivery to your room, to a whole room decoration to even planning an event. For my brother's 40th birthday, we did the Amazing Race through Epcot. It was patterned after the show and quite fun. She also offers personal shopping services for you and will ship to your home or deliver to your WDW resort. BTW, another great place to dine and watch fireworks is Cinderella's Castle. They dim the lights and you can watch the fireworks through the stained glass of the castle windows.
