We were on a flight home once where an older gentleman across the aisle assumed that he could just tap into the oxygen on the plane at any time. Apparently he was normally on oxygen, and just figured it was one of those perks of flying - you know free peanuts, soda, and oxygen.

So my daughter and son-in-law have rented a cabin in Maine for the week. She's invited us to come up, but I explained to her that her dad is working with one of our friends this week on a remodeling job, so I'd have to come with just my mother. It's about a 4 hour drive each way, which I really could do in a day (I met her for lunch more than once when she was in college up there), but given the fact that Mom gets agitated if we travel more than 100 yds from home, I guess I'd better stay put. It is tempting though.....

I've heard Maine is beautiful in the summer but never been. I always find that if my gut instinct is to pass on an excursion - best to listen to it.

Make sure they bring a good stock of frying pans. And prosciutto. Just in case.

Yeah, I know it can't be done, but it's nice to think about. Maine really is nice in the summer - if it wasn't for that little snow issue in the winter, it would be perfect.
