Fun trip - ups and downs for sure but still some great memories - it's actually good to be back since before we left we had no power for over a week - feels like forever since we spent a lazy Sunday at home.

So I forgot to mention we were the flag family our last day there! It was such an amazing experience - thanks to all you guys for clueing me into the fact that they offer it to guests!!

It is so cold I my house I am under 2 blankets and I know I could just get up and click the heat up a notch but the thought of getting out from under the blankets to do so is just so unappealing!!

And winter hasnt even come yet. I miss Florida!!!

We've had the weirdest weather lately. I've put out the winter quilts on the beds, and we have a heavy blanket that Dave's mother crocheted for us many years ago, and I still freeze.
and it's only November.....

Oh and I am a total flutterbrain. I was freezing last night because I never re-set the weekday program for the heat from when we were away. When I finally got up to click it on I saw it was 64 degrees in the house!! I adjusted the settings and it was toasty all night long. :D

Ours kicks down to 60 at 9 pm. Most nights that's fine, but the past few it seems the temperature drops 30 degrees at 9:01. Hence I steal the blankets!

Finally taking a break from baking. Yeast roll dough is rising now, and once I've baked them, I'm done. The house smells delicious right now. I love Thanksgiving!

Me too - it's my favorite holiday. Food & football - it's a beautiful thing. I'd actually like it even better if my mother in law made green bean casserole, but since I am not the one doing the cooking, I never complain!! I've considered making it and bringing it to her house but she's a bit touchy about such things. Kind of like a fine restaurant that doesn't allow outside food!!

My brother-in-law and his wife do the majority of the cooking, but others are known to bring stuff too. We're in charge of rolls and desserts, but we've learned that everyone brings pies too, so I do more 'finger food" type stuff for the afternoon, a parfait-thing that I'm required to do

I'm all in favor of way too much food - but my mother in law always makes way too much turnips and spaghetti squash and not enough stuffing!! :mad:
