Oh, those poor Ingalls girls...

To celebrate the holiday I used a zombie target at the range last night. Gotta keep in practice. ;)
Early morning zombie chatter. It's a good thing that I don't drink coffee. I always use plain round targets because I'm a little hesitant about using "human" targets, but I may adjust my thinking due to the fact that zombies aren't technically...well, you know.

So we did our walk at citypark today instead of the ballfield path. I had to agree to only do 2 miles, but that's OK - I love that path - the views are so pretty.

There are 2 great blue heron in the water out there and a flock of sandpipers. The tide was coming in so they were scurrying in with it.

It was a sting operation. Undercover officers set up a deal wherein they met him at a seedy motel room and sold him a book titled "Grilling Your Neighbor's Wife." They burst into the room after the money had been exchanged.
wonder if he likes saline and silicone? most likely saline as most meats have a 10 percent solutions;)

Yeah - I thought we needed that!

Ready for Sandy?

Still hoping the models are wrong - but - we are pulling the boat tomorrow, just in case. We are near one of the highest points on Long Island so flooding isn't usually an issue but the high winds with our old, tall oaks is frightening.

How about you?

Yeah we took care of the hanging plants and what not today. We're about a mile inland from the bay, so we should be OK as far as flooding goes. What worries me is the 2 very old maples on our front lawn. We've talked about taking them down a couple of times, but we nevr carried through with it.
My son's apartment is on top of a hill, so he should be OK - I just hope he doesn't have to go in to work during all that.

I was wondering if they are going to close school. I hate the unpredictability of it all. I wish I just knew the storm path so we could plan accordingly.

So one good thing about all these storm preparations: They're asking people to take down all their politcal signs so they don't become missles during the storm!

Thanks for the uber-cool link. My wife is a huge fan of that game, and the puzzle is a treat for her. (Just for the record, she thinks that my activity on this thread is silly, and she does not participate in it at all. I type this on the outside chance that she will read this one day after my untimely death and realize that I made her sound like, well, me.)
