No, this was Dave. (Mom's back with my brother). We have a screen house whose table seats 6 comfortably and we eat out there often. So tonight we had planned to have 2 other couples - great friends of ours over for dinner out there. I went out to the store for 1/2 hour and when I came back, he told me his brother had called to invite us over, so he invited him and his wife to join us for dinner instead. So now we're feeding 8 people at a table that only holds 6 with food I had planned for 6. To top it all off, his brother and wife do not even know 3 out of the 4 other people coming, and they really don't have a lot in common. It's going to be awkward to say the least.

Hope the dinner party went well! We went to a BBQ and 2 hours before we had to go my dearest husband tells me we need to bring a side dish. So we decide on a taco salad. He ran to the store to grab the ingredients. He came home and put them on the table and disappeared. I cooked up the meat in my 90 degree kitchen and prepped everything else. When I was done, and thoroughly overheated, I went to look for him and he was lounging in the air conditioning watching Tommy Boy. Men. Grrr. (present company excluded, of course!!)

Well, we survived it. It was not exactly the fun evening we envisioned, but I've calmed down about it now. Lesson learned.....
