Is that a Dropkick Murpheys cover?wannabeBelle said:2. Fields of Athenry
I am not sure about Steam Train at all, but I can tell you Whisky in the Jar is a remake over a very old traditional song and one of the last people to cover that one was Metallica!!!! Scary huh??? BelleNot For Sale said:Is that a Dropkick Murpheys cover?
Sure!!!!! Actually Follow Me Off to Carlow is the song that plays when you hit the Off Kilter website www.OffKilter.net It is also on Celtic Armadillo, the third CD which is a personal favorite!!!!!!! I also have it on several videotapes of the band's performances ( Yes they know about them, I wasnt exactly subtle when I was videotaping them!!) Bellestuart said:Thanks belle for the cd info. It looks great, if only it had 'follow me up to Carlow' it would be even better. Oh well im still goin to get it.
Hey there I Am glad that you took the plunge. You will like this CD it is almost like hearing them live at Disney, complete with jokes and talking from the guys etc. If you want shoot off an E mail to Theresa via the Off Kilter website and you can request that the guys sign the CD before they shiip it to you!!!!!!!!! It will save you from having to drag it with you to EPCOT on a future trip!!!! Several people I know did that and got the CD autographed by the guys!!! The guys are truly a Disney type of band, very friendly and warm to all of their fans!!!!!!!! Enjoy your CD!!! Bellestuart said:Yeah the Celtic Armadillo album was a very good one. Well its just completed - my purchase of the live tracks cd. No way was i waiting until next July when i will next be in Disney to get one. Hopefully it will be airmail and come fairly quickly.
yeah but a difference between these bands and Off Kilter is that Off Kilter plays at Disney in the Canada Pavilion!! So you can come to EPCOT, have a great time with all the other attractions and get in some good old fashioned Celtic Rock & Roll!!!!! Sounds like a perfect day to me!!!!!!! "lay down the boogie and play that Celtic Music till you die!" Isnt it just?? I got a chance to see Off Kilter this weekend in Disney during the Food & Wine Fest. Mark Weldon( Bassist and one of the lead vocalists) was not there as he was on vacation for his Bday!! David was his replacement, but the chemistry of the band wasnt the same without Mark!! Here is wishing Mark a very happy birthday!!! I like the Live Tracks as it captures to fun and spirit of this band. My especial favorites are MariMac, the beginning of Whisky in the Jar, and of course Johnny B Goode!!! Bellecelticdog said:I was at the Richmond Highland Games over the weekend and low and behold what did I see? A vendor selling Offkilter cds and he even had the new one "the live tracks". I must say it's oudstanding. Usually I don't care for live albums, but the commentary, energy and humor plus the quality of the music makes this a great album. Two thumbs waayyyy up!!
Hey Steve, I think we misunderstood each other!!!! I said the FIRST part of Whisky in the Jar on the Live Tracks!! For Off Kilter that is the beginning to Metallica's Enter Sandman!!! THAT is the part I like!!!!!!!!! One of these days Id like them to finish that song!!!!! Mari Mac I dig because of the country spin they put on it. I love the Off Kilter take on most of the traditional stuff!!! And of course I cant get enough of the original stuff which is probably why Celtic Armadillo is my favorite CD of the four!!! There is a LOT of original material on that one. Have a great time!!!!!!!! Bellecelticdog said:I've got to be honest with you, Belle. I am really sick of hearing "Whisky in the Jar". It seem that every celtic band does that song and it's everywhere. You are very correct, "Mary Mac" is a fun song and so is the high energy of "Goodbye Muirsin Durkin". I'm really looking forward to seeing them the week after next. :sohappy:
Tis possible, I was too busy listening for all the jokes and sidebars of the band members so I cant tell you!!!!!! I still think Celtic Armadillo is my personal favorite. I wasnt ever one for live albums in any event, so that makes sense. BelleUltra Magnus said:I've just received the Live Tracks CD to go with my Celtic Armadillo. Very nice! But does anyone notice that some of the background cheering sounds like a pre-recorded loop? I swear I've heard the same 3 girls scream "Off Kilter Rules!" several times... :lookaroun
