Just thought I would let you know it appears the Android version also went out today. I had never been able to download it before because it was always Verizon only but I was just able to download it on my T-Mobile phone for free.

:lookaroun I've been using it on my t-mobile phone for quite some time... just had to get the file itself... Glad it's now on ALL phones though :D

I have it on my AT&T iPhone, and while it is cool. It does not work at EPCOT during busy times-just like any other app. Once the park died down last night, it was pretty cool.

I have an Android phone - is it just me or am I not seeing specific wait times? My app is showing:

Wait: Moderate
Wait: See Now
Wait: High Demand - FP Available

Or is this how its supposed to look?

This... When you are at a resort, it detects the resort you are at by GPS... and it gives you resort information.... When you are at the park, again GPS detects the park and then the app provides information about that park... If you try it at home, you get a generic app with no wait times and very little park information, if any at all..

Disregard my previous post :)

If the posted wait times and FP distribution times are available when you're on site, kudos to Disney for getting that aspect of the 1 hour enforcement window correct. This is a major step, but it also needs to make sure the tip boards are more accurate as well. There should be no difference in the tip boards and the wait times posted outside an attraction. Lastly, I'd love to see FP distribution times added to the tip boards in MK, DHS and DAK.

That's what my iPhone says. That is all they give you.

Don't you get the exact wait times only when you are inside the park? Outside the park you just get the low, moderate etc

I used it in October briefly... I remember seeing the moderate, high demand, etc messages but I also remember the actual wait times being there too.. I remember comparing the wait time for Buzz Lightyear on the app to the posted wait time on the ride and it being 100% accurate (accurate meaning the posted time on the ride and the app matched, not that I actually waited that length of time)... I forget if you have to actually select the ride itself or not... Unless they changed the app since October, the wait times should be present..

How did folks ever live in an era without APPS?

Can you imagine going to the MK BEFORE THERE WAS A TIPBOARD?!??! Actually had to walk to an attraction and look at the posted time and decide whether to ride or wait until later. ... And no one dropped dead living that way.

But I am glad that we can now sit in the lobby of the BW and see what the wait time for Splash Mountain: Ghetto Edition is.

I know foam heads are a topic near to your heart but do remember when they would just appear? As if by magic strolling around the park?

Before they got dedicated locations, set times, photopass, attendants(my favorite is still the staffing model at the Cars location), fastpass, queue ropes, x-pass, autograph book pens, stagnant....How did we ever take a picture with a character before all this? I can't even imagine....

It's called technological advancement.

What did people do before there were cars? They walked.

What did people do before there were planes? They drove.

Now people don't have to go all the way across a park just to find out the ride they want to go on has a crazy-long wait they're not willing to do. Or they can find out the wait is quite reasonable and make their way there when they might not have otherwise.

Just because it's new doesn't make it bad. In fact, this may help people get more rides in while there in the parks by managing which rides they choose based on wait times instead of standing in the nearest queue no matter how long its wait might be.

And if I understand correctly, the app is GPS based and gives you wait times for the park you're in or nearest, so from BW you likely wouldn't be able to find out the wait time for Splash Mountain beyond the "See Now", "Moderate" or "High Demand" that's available from further away.

It probably looked something like this. Where kids just bombarded the characters like they were red carpet celebrities. Looks like if you wanted a photo of your child with a character you had to enjoy it with a few other people as well. Although, I am sure I will be told how this is a flawed representation and that things were really not like that.

You mean like they still do in Anaheim, Hong Kong, Paris and Tokyo?

Yeah, I remember it well ... those times it was MAGICal ... now, it all seems so contrived. Likely why I am not a fan.

I dunno, but yet we managed just fine. Of course, this brings up my broader sociological question of whether folks are dumber today or resigned to accept less ... or both.

But I sure would like to go back to Sunday brunches at the Top of the World with no characters, but great food and people dressed like they had some class.

Want to hear something funny, and off topic?? I have become so accustomed to touch screens, I took out a friend's Amazon Kindle and was cursing it cause the touch screen didn't work, only to find out. IT DIDN'T HAVE TOUCH SCREEN CAPABILITIES!!!! Technology is great but it can also be evil.. LOL..

And if I am not mistaken, if you are at BW, you won't get any park information... I used it at BLT first and had no park info... nothing about wait times until I entered MK...

I don't disagree.

I just think tech is taking a lot of fun out of things that were plenty of fun without it.

It will make no difference to me because I'm at the point with WDW where ride times don't matter (unless I'm entertaining family or friends from out of state). I show up at a park and if a line is too long (generally anything over 20-30 minutes), I don't do it. Or I grab a FP if I think I'll be able to use it later.

I'm more excited by brick and mortar construction and actual new things to experience than I am by any of these techie things and planning stuff that TDO is tossing out ... to me it feels so onerous because I just want to go to a nice park and relax ... I don't want to plan spreadsheets six months in advance. I believe most outside the Disney fan community would find that type of 'planning' to be highly odd!:ROFLOL:
