The already infamous first pin in the "Piece of Disney History" collection reported earlier now has an official release date given.

Can you say massive collector's item? I'm super surprised at the price point. I was sure it would have been higher. Anyway, there you go!

Very neat how they chop up pieces of the ride and put them in the pins... in a morbid kind of way. :lol: :p

I think this is an AWESOME idea! :sohappy: I cant wait to see what other pins of this kind Disney has in store for us. Hopefully I'll be able to get my hand on a few.

Many thanks for the post MissM. Ya beat me to it. I would say this price comes under what anyone had guessed (including me). Just got my Carousel of Progress, now I'm going to have to start saving for this one!

I think these have even caught the fancy of some of the non pin folks here...heck, Corrus may have to break down and get his second pin!

LE Pins are only for sale in the parks themselves. Unfortunatly, for those not able to get to WDW - myself included despite living in Tampa - it's generally either ebay or someone else who can get there for you. This one I would guess is going to sell out.

12.50 is a standard price for a pin like that. Even if it is a more collectable piece. My problem is going to be the arm and the leg I will have to give up on Ebay to get them because I can't be there when they are released.

Well, If I get two...:lookaroun then walk away....:lookaroun then get two......:lookaroun walk away....I may be able to get a few more than normaly. At MNSSHP they mark your wristband, but they didn't do anything like that for the COP pin so. I think I will be able to get a few.

* I also have 6 invites left!

Plus I will have my girlfriend with me, (we are going over for her birthday) so I can get more that way too.

OH man, that is so cool!! 20K was one of my favorite rides when i was growing up, i would love to get a pin like that with a piece of the ride in it. I won't be able to make it down there myself either, but i would love if someone could pick up one for me. Heck, i'll pay double to get one. lol.
