I know, but this one quote caught my eye.

"According to an LA Times article, Ed Catmull and John Lasseter, who oversee Disney Animation, will be setting aside the princess crowns in order to focus on animated features that appeal to broader audiences with more contemporary material."

Need I remind you that that was nothing more than a stupid rumor that has since debunked?!

True, but then again chiefs used to have mutiple wives and women were not seen as "royalty" so to speak in their tribes, so it would not be likely that any of their daughters would be seen as "princesses".

but when Pocahontas went to England the Queen instructed that she should be treated as foreign royalty so at least the English saw her as a princess

You can't seriously be offended that there isn't a Hispanic princess...

Of course not, I am a white male between the ages of 18 and 35, I can't be offended by anything. Seriously though, I never indicated I was offended, just making a comment on the fact that out of the nine princesses, they are represented by women who are white, black, asian, arabic, and indian but no hispanic women. Certainly, a new princess movie is in the worls. That is a whole demographic Disney has left out and that's cash sitting on the table they have yet to scoop up. Especially now that hispanics make up 16% of the US population. Just saying.

Wikipedia says she was a princess by the European definition, but that doesn't mean she was revered in her own culture at all.

So, we'll officially go with..... everyone's right! :p

It's a marketing campaign, there are no "rules" other than what Disney wants them to be. Fairies don't exist, doesn't stop Disney from marketing a whole line of them.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN FAIRIES DON"T EXIST!!!! Next thing you're going to tell me is Neverland doesn't exist, or the Hundred Acre Wood. What about Stitch, he must be real.
I hear people complaining about him all of the time. I don't know what is real anymore.
