Interesting. Heck if that's big, use ALL of WDW's Convention Halls!:D

That's an option, but still doesn't get you as much floor space as Anaheim Convention Center has under one roof. D23 Expo used 550,000 square feet of floor space in its first year, with hundreds of thousands of square feet of room to grow at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Anaheim Convention Center - 800,000 Square Feet plus 7,000 seat Anaheim Arena (a short stroll from Disneyland/DCA/DTD/Disney hotels)

WDW Dolphin, Boardwalk, Contemporary, Coronado, Yacht & Beach, Grand Floridian - A Combined 525,000 Square Feet (and not within walking distance)

Unless you move D23 Expo off property to the Orlando Convention Center, which is absolutely huge and one of the largest centers in the world. But I don't think Disney would want to get that far off property and lose that electricity and vibe you have by placing it on and around Disney property. Just the logistics of transporting tens of thousands of Expo visitors on buses to and from WDW property each day would be a monumental task akin to the Normandy invasion.

Perhaps in the future when D23 has a more solid reputation they could move it off property to the Orlando Convention Center. But for the first few years of D23 Expo it's going to need to stay in Southern California, not only for the logistics and big facilities available here adjacent to Disneyland, but for the development of D23 Expo's reputation and sizzle.

I think you are mistaken. D23 Expo was not 20,000 square feet.

Yep I am. It seems to refer to the 20,000 sq ft as "interactive" exhibit space, not total space. They don't seem to offer up any total sq ft stats.

I still however remain confident that such an event could easily be held at WDW on property one way or another.

Yes, the Disney Interactive Media Group had an exhibit in Hall B, and it looked to be about 20,000 square feet as I remember. It was one of the smaller areas on the showfloor, but a clearly defined exhibit space in Hall B, across from the Disney Technology Magic exhibit. You can see pictures of this particular Disney Interactive exhibit in their 20,000 square foot space about two thirds of the way through this comprehensive photo tour of the D23 Expo exhibit halls. http://www.attractionsmagazine.com/...o-tour-of-the-expo-floor-exhibits-and-booths/

To get the 550,000 square foot total I used the foldout map in the official D23 Expo program I was given upon arrival on Friday, plus the very specific center maps with dimensions available at http://www.anaheimconventioncenter.com , and my personal experience with the Exhibit Halls from attending several major events and trade shows per year at the Anaheim Convention Center for the past decade.

I could see them moving this to Orlando eventually, but they are going to need to get a strong reputation behind the D23 Expo concept before they attempt to break it up into several smaller portions and spread it all apart with a 10 or 15 minute bus ride between each portion all over WDW property. The lack of a major arena like the 7,000 seat Anaheim Arena for big executive presentations is a stumbling block I don't know how WDW will overcome though.

I think they will do at least three or five of these D23 Expos over a five or ten year period in Anaheim before they attempt to move it and break it apart at WDW.

Grrrr!

The guy's done some good work, though. And if management did want to keep the carpets so badly, I doubt they'd be there.

Wait...Who said Aladdin was going away?

Are we making up rumors now, then being disappointed they aren't true?

If so, I'm extremely disappointed those evil imagineers axed the Volcano Mountain Autopia Rhine River Ride they were going to build. Boooooo! Hisssss!

New user here . Made my first trip to Disney 22 years ago when I was 6 weeks old and have been going at least once a year since. Never get sick of it.

Just wondering if anyone heard anything about the plot for Toy Story 3. There was suppose to be a trailer for it during the screening of Toy Story and Toy Story 2. Wondering if anyone heard anything about it.
