Jamie (the bag pipe player) is still there. The fiddle has actually replaced the keyboard player who decided to leave the group.

I'm actually surprised Off Kilter has done this gig as long as they have. They must like the job and the stability.

What they really need to do is relocate the Off Kilter stage to a better place. What I have in mind would be something more like where The British Revolution play, with a stage that is more out of the way from all the foot traffic going through Canada.

Thanks for the updates tigger!! I just hate that I always happen to miss Jamie haha but it's okay because I LOVE mark!! But I asked him the other month if I could hear Alive or if they still play it, he said they wouldn't be able to play it their next set because it was a different tune. Tigger, would you happen to know which set do they usually play Alive? That's my favorite song by then and I haven't heard it played live in over 6+ months now and I usually see them once or twice a month.

Also do you know what the new song they usually play in their last set is? I can't understand Mark's accent, I think he says aaronshore? It is an instrumental song

That would be Erin's Shore. (Erin=Ireland) Mark is an Irishman from County Cork. Proving that Southerners from any country can be hard to understand ;) :)

Hi All, Sorry I didnt see this until just now. If Jamie is off, the band plays without the pipes. He is definitely a part of the band and nothing has changed there, other than the costuming, which I dont particularly care for. The black pants are OK but not on some of the band and not on others, it looks too hodgepodge, like they were just thrown together that afternoon. As others have said, the rest of the band certainly knows when Jamie's next scheduled day to play is, so just ask. Have a great day all!!! Marie

Why did they switch to half of them wear pants and the other half wear kilts? It looks weird. And belle, do you know if they still play Alive? I go see them at least once or twice a month and I still haven't heard them play that song in over a year.

Would be nice if Off Kilter had a stage with more seating and out of the sun on hot days, but I suppose the location is so there is music along the walkways like Morocco, Mexico, and the Drums at Japan. The Uk garden is nice, but Canada may not have room, but maybe someday...

I've got a 4 year old niece who is infatuated with bagpipes and last January the Off Kilter members (particularly the bagpiper) treated her like a queen after one of their shows. I can't say enough nice things about these people.
It's nice that they are as genuinely appreciative of their fans as we are of their talent.

I saw briefly the other day that Off Kilter's name was being displayed on their normal nameplate, and that their stage was decorated for the Holidays. I didn't get a chance to see this "new band" and was even wondering if it was just Off Kilter with a holiday overlay as the times guide said it would be this Canadian Celtic band playing Holiday Music. Anyone have an idea?

The stage is decorated for the holidays. Their sets are still the usual songs, nothing to accommodate the season.

And the bagpiper was back when we saw them.

Wouldn't be surprised if they performed something different just for the season. Similar to how the mariachi will perform Feliz Navidad these days.
