October 2025 Price Increases

The S&P is up 214% in the past 10 years. Disney's up ... 16%.

That includes $28 billion in stock buybacks, basically lighting that money on fire.

It's a legitimate question to ask whether giving $4K annual bonuses to all 233,000 cast members worldwide for a decade, at a total cost of $9.5B - 33% of the buyback costs - would've done more for the company, the employees, and the communities in which the company operates. It's hard to believe that wouldn't match a 16% ROI.
We tend to debate this alot here…but it’s not really a debate at all. It’s not a sound investment

Numbers is numbers

The price of an Incredi-Pass with PhotoPass and tax is now $1850.97. In 2018 I purchased twelve Platinum Pass vouchers which are equivalent to the Incredi-Pass with PhotoPass. Three of the twelve expire in 2030 and nine expire in 2099. It was an attempt to hedge against Disney inflation. The price I paid in 2018 dollars was $10,015.86. The price to purchase the equivalent passes today is $22,211.64. Google says that a 2018 dollar has 29% more value than a 2025 dollar. That would mean that the original purchase in today's dollars based solely on inflation would be $12,920.46. The plan seems sound in theory. What I did not plan for, was the "soft" devaluation of the pass in terms of Lightning Lane costs, required park reservations and an overall park experience degradation - unsure how to factor that. If I had to do it again, I would probably not purchase or would have purchased a group of 10-day, park hopper non-expiring tickets. A concern is that "soft" devaluation will continue and our desire to even use the passes will diminish.

This is the ELEPHANT in the room that’s causing a lot of the bad decisions and PR Backlash..

This RIGHT here ☝🏻👆🏻

It doesn’t get really near enough play…

These price increases were covered all over mediadom yesterday and today…across the board…

Well…I doubt abc covered it…

Anyone see a “positive” spin on it…at all?
Here's the funny thing, my mom heard about it on some news station (not ABC). They DID try to spin it. It was something like "The price went up between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but it's actually going down other times." She had no idea about passes, or food. Obviously was a quick talk about it, but it's interesting the spin was "prices went down too!"

The Incredipass approaching $2000 now is a scary threshold considering an AP not even a decade ago was ~$750 for the best one you could get. They can't keep up with this level of price inflation indefinitely. Especially when out of state people are only offered the Incredipass.

Sure, prices may have "gone down" other days for day tickets, but trust me that $209 price will no longer be an anomaly in a few years and will be the default price, where the current $209 days will be $249 or something. At some point, it's just absurdly expensive.

Yep. My out of state AP in 2018 was $850ish. Who is going to pay the current, ridiculous price??

Well they openly declared war on APs with Slaphead as the bag man…

Believing that they’re “missing out” on daily fees…

But that thinking is so stupid…especially out of staters…
They’re not coming for the day…and how much cash are they bringing with them?

Just dumb

It’s only $100 more than I paid in June….. so I guess me?

I don’t enjoy paying more - but an AP is always going to be 8-10x the price of a day ticket correct?
That can’t continue to be the case into oblivion. There is a price ceiling on every product that customers will tolerate…

It is one thing for that formula to apply to a low level ticket price…quite different when you are trying to do it on daily prices that have gone up well over any reasonable number to describe “inflation” for that product.

This is the same caution I throw to people talking about buying dvc at the ridiculous pricing now. It’s not reasonable to think it’s “worth it” if you are trying to get ahead of a room at animal kingdom lodge being $2000 a night…it never will be. That’s above the price ceiling.

Same with DVC members. They already got their money. As long as they keep paying maintenance fees, they are basically scum like AP’ers who don’t all spend enough when they come

I agree. I guess I see the issue with day tickets more than AP’s.

They are connected.
If they wanted more revenue from the more profitable streams…which was never tickets…they’d detach pass prices from day tickets.

The excuse will be “and make it
Like six flags flooded with NORMAL people? 😱

…that’s dumb…the pass prices are already well over the level where had can happen. Not like they’re ever gonna match that mentality
