I've been waiting to start this pre trip report but was never sure how far in advance to do it.
I can no longer wait as we are now less than 3 weeks to departure.:sohappy:
We have me, Nic,(33) my DH Lee(36) and my DD AVA. (6) (Ava will be turning 7 on our holiday)
We are from the UK so have a lovely 10 hour flight pluse 5 hour time change, but we dont mind.
This will be my 7th trip, DH 5th and DD 3rd.
We start our journey on the evening of Thursday 14th, after school my DD has a dance lesson so we will travel to Manchester airport after that, its about 3 hour drive, so we aim to get there by 9.30 that night.
We fly the next morning at 10.30am, we should be at the airport by 8am, I check in on line the day before so this cuts our time at the airport.
Flying with Virgin, we love this airline, I know Ava will be entertained.
We should land by 14.30 (19.30 to us!)
On the bus and off to Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter for 14 nights with Disney Dining Plan.
This is our first time using DDP and we are excited to visit a few more resaurants this time.
I had all the reservations booked at the 180 day but have just added a few amendments as was surprised by what is still left!
Our first night is at DownTown Disney, we unpack then get the boat there.
We are hoping to get a walk up to T-rex (first time) as I can't get a reservation booked.
After that we will go and make Ava a T-shirt at the new store there, then to Ghiradelli's for ice cream.
We should be pretty beat by now, if we get to bed for 9pm this would make our body clock 2am and we are up at 6.30 the next morning! Lets see how that works out! :snore:
Oct 16.
We aim to gt up at 6.30 and be at DHS for 8am opening, run straight to TSM then take our time wandering the park, there's not alot we do at the park, its the shows that slow the day so we may skip them as we have already seen them and aim to spen the afternoon at the pool.
The eveing will be at MK, I would not usually do that but we wont be going to MK till Monday and I just cant wait that long!
We have reservations at Tony's Town Square (first time) at 19.30.
We will do whatever rides we can, not staying too late as another early start tomorrow.
Oct 17.
Up early again and to be at AK for 8am opening.
We head straight for Kilimanjaro safari, then to EE, after that it will be touring the trails and Rafiki's area.
This park annoys me sometimes as there is alot of walking and we find ourselves going back on oursleves, we head to camp Mini Mickey and try to get some lunch then to Dino Land.
Ava has never been on Kali River, we may pop on and see how she goes! Depending on how the day pans out, we hope to get back to the pool for a bit.
We have reservations for Donalds safari breakfast but we may cancel this in order to get through the day.
We will be eating at the Boardwalks tonight at Big River Grill, I know alot of bad reviews on here about this place but we have eaten here a few times and never had a bad experience, fingers crossed I just didn't jinx that!
Oct 18.
Ava's birthday. :sohappy:
Again we are up early, even if our bodies say no, we must be up as Ava has a busy day.
First she has reservations a BBB in the MK for 9am.
I am looking forward to getting in th MK before opening as we have never seen Mainstreet fairly empty.
She is getting her hair, nails and makeup done, I will have her own Cinderella dress.
After this we have breakfast book in the Castle.
I think I am more excited than Ava, we have never ate here before and I always think breakfast is a safe option as we are quite a picky family when it comes to food!
The day is Ava's after that, where ever and what ever she wants to go on she can. I may regret this as she loves Iasm!!
The evening will be at DHS for fantasmic only, no rides just the show, this was the only night we could really fit the show in, its a shame its not every night, but we have seen it so many times, if we are too tired we may just leave it out.
Oct 19.
Again another ealry rise, I think the family may not like me by now!
We are off to EP for 8am opening, Soaring is first then Nemo and hope to fit Test Track before heading to norway for the Princess breakfast at 9.50.
Ava will change into her Belle dress, she was upset I was not organised last time and she was just in plane clothes!
After this we will wander the world and head back to Nemo and Talk with Crush.
Back to the hotel and we have reservations back at EP tonight at Tutto Italy (first time) at 7.30. This was a last min addition.
Oct 20.
We can rest a bit this morning as our reservation at Chef Mickey's (first time) is not until 09.10.
After that we will head to a water park.
The evening is back at EP for Le Cellier (first time), looking forward to it.
Oct 21.
Reservations at GF for 1900 Park Fare breakfast at 09.30.
Ava loves Alice so will be in her Alice costume.
After this we get the bus to DTD and walk over to the Buenavista Palace to collect our car from Alamo.
We will then head to the shops.
We have tickets to Mnsshp tonight so aim to get there about 5pm, grab a QS and do a few rides before 7pm.
We dedicate the evening to the shows, trick or treating and character's.
Oct 22.
Reservations at PR for O'hana breakfast at 09.30.
After the day is ours, not sure what to do, may go to a water park or back to the pool, or if we didn't get to the shops yesturday, we will do that!
Its EMH at AK so we hope to get there for 5pm and stay till 8pm.
We have reservations at Rainforest cafe for 8.30.
We may cancel this as its oop and food is not that great, we may prefere to get a QS in AK earlier.
Oct 23.
The next few days are dedicated to Universal.
We will grab a QS breakfast from the hotel and drive over to Universal. Depending on how busy it is, if we can get throught all the rides we want, we may head to the Mall at Millenia, we love to shop!
Its EMH at MK so if we are not to tired we will head there if not just a QS at the hotel.
Oct 24.
Another day at Universal, not sure whick park we will do on each day but I hope to get to IOA very early and get to Harry Potter.
Again if we are lucky to get everything done, we will head shoping.
This evening we have reservations at DHS 50's Prime Time at 7.10.
If we got to see fantasmic earlier in the week we are fine to miss tonights show and get on some rides.
Oct 25.
I really want to try to get to DTD this morning and have breakfast at WP express, I have read so many great reports about the food here.
After, it could be pool or waterpark.
This eveining is EMH at MK.
We have reservations first at GF 1900 Park Fare at 5.30. Again Ava will have her Cinderella dress on.
Hop on the monorail to MK. We wont stay too long as we have a busy day tomorrow.
Oct 26.
We will get a QS breakfast and in the car to Busch Gardens.
We hhope to get there for opening which is not until 10am.
I made a mistake last time and we got there for 08.30 thinking it opened at 9am. No, we had to sit in Macdonalds for an hour!
We will spend all day here.
We have reservations at PH tonight, we drive back to the hotel, quick freshen up and boat to DTD.
Again if we are too tired we will just stay at the hotel.
Oct 27.
Nothing booked for this morning so we will just head to a
waterpark for 10am opening.
QS lunch then back to the hotel about 3ish, we can never stay all day at a water park, Ava gets worked up and on the last few trips, we've had a lot or arguments. :goodnevil
This year I'm worried as she is tall for her age, she will be devastated if she can't go on them, she can swim but not that strong but she loved the kiddie rides at the waterparks last time, like I say, she may be a bit tall. After a rest at the hotel, more likely ava will want to be in the pool, I know we just came from a waterpark!!
We have reservations at EP for Rose & Crown at 19.50.
We will check in early and hopefuly get an outside seat for Illuminations.
Oct 28.
This is our last full day. EMH at MK.
Hope to be there for opening ceremony.
Get a few rides in then breakfast booked at Crystal Palace (first time) for 09.45.
After, get a few more rides in then monorail it over to EP, we like to try and do this journey on the monorail.
Rest of the day at EP. We have reservations at Tutto again ay 19.20, we may cancel this and just grab a QS earlier on as this day is quite long, not sure if Ava will last all day.
I didn't mention at the start but ava is such a bad walker, she gets really tired very quick, so we will have her stroller, my DD is not happy at this as she is 7 but I know alot of people on here have mentioned they put their elder child in a stroler, I think for peace for everyone, I'm not bothered what other parents may think. It will make our holiday more enjoyable without her moaning her legs are tired.
Oct 29.
Our last day.
We will drop the bags off at the Virgin Check-in at DTD then the car over the road then back to the hotel and go to whatever park Ava wants to do again.
We usually don't get picked up from DTD by Virgin until 5.30, so we have a good few hours at the parks.
We will head back to the hotel about 3pm to get changed and freshend up.
One last boat trip to DTD, have a sandwich at Earl of Sandwich and walk round to the pick up, which is all the way past House of blues, but its a nice final walk.
Off to the airport for our 20.30 flight.
We should land the next morning about 09.30. We then have the 3 hour drive back up home.
And that is it.
Sorry if it was a bit too long but it's my first go and I want to see how I compare to the actual trip report, hmmmm that may be even longer!!
I will post again on the day we go, lets see if my set off time of 1830 is made!!
