Obsession?

Ok so obviously all of us here maaaayyy have a slight obsession with WDW itself. But what are the things that you are a bit fanatical about other then that in and out of the World? Attractions, Disney movies, food, places??

For me, I am completely and totally addicted to the giant cookies from Goofy's Candy Co. They are around property as "Minnie's Bake Shop" cookies come in so many different flavors. I eat 4 or 5 while I'm actually there and then bring 5 home. The funniest part is that I'm not a big cookie eater at home!

HI! I hope this isn't part of the not to list list but (lol)

I absolutely positively HAVE to go over the holidays where I get the whole Thanksgiving/Christmas ambiance.....because I absolutely positively HAVE to go see Osborne Lights! LOL It's a huge obsession for me....besides going the whole week of Thanksgiving every year...I guess that counts too :ROFLOL:Food wise...there are so many places I haven't tried yet but one of my faves that I obsess over is 50's Prime Time Cafe. The food is pretty darn good and it's always good for a huge laugh...for example, on our last visit a gentleman was SOOOOOO bad....his "Mom" gave him away to another family LOL :ROFLOL:

Well, I collect probably what everyone does; mugs, snowglobes, clothing for the family, music, movies, plates, eggs, spice jars, books and toys/figurines for my kiddies.

As far as what I do/eat/see/buy when I am in the world is always the same. I love the MK and spend the most of my time there. I always have to have my Mickey ice cream bar, have popcorn on Main St. while watching the parade (and I do not eat popcorn), frozen lemonade at HS, eat at Chef Mickey's and always have a certain way of walking through each park. I have more but these are more traditions than obsessions, though.;)

Interesting questing for sure!
A different take on the tired and boring "what's your favorite?" threads.

I'll name a few:

* Haunted Mansion. Specifically the hitchhiking ghosts, but really everything about the ride. The music, the actual mansion, the doom buggies, the portraits, the history of the ride, the track layout, the artwork at DTD, the Vinylmations, the on board audio apart from the music, the special effects etc...

* Hidden Mickeys. This obsession has cooled off significantly as of late but my wife will tell you when Steve Barrett's 1st edition book came out, I literally would pour over it, his website, and other websites trying to locate the really good ones. And when we'd go to Disney, it was all I could think about.

* Vinylmations. Sadly I've started collecting these. My wife started this by getting a few of the Cutesters, but then I started to notice a few that I liked. I don't have any of the older ones, but I've gone to Ebay to get the ones I really like, along with the blind boxes in the parks. She's got about 13 and I just got number 15. Can't wait for some of the upcoming series. But I can't for the life of me understand why the world anyone would buy and collect pins!

* Maps. Park maps, resort maps, Googlemaps, Bing maps, ride layouts, utilidor maps. I could literally look at maps of the entire WDW property all day.

* Backstage areas. I'm not a CM nor have I ever been. I am always wondering what certain backstage areas look like. I'm the one looking through the doors to backstage areas as they are shutting, asking about what roads are private, wondering what's behind the curtains, "accidentally" getting lost, peeking over the walls etc... I want to see what I'm not supposed to see.

I hope this thread grows legs because it's got the potential to be a very fun and entertaining topic.

Great question!!!
Here are a few of my obsessions:
· Mickey Mouse Premium Bars and Vanilla/pineapple float
· Cosmic Rays (sunny Eclipse)
· Uptown Jewelers

Pins...I love disney pins. I mainly get exclusively the Limited Edition ones and I can't order as many as I'd like online but I never leave Disney World with less than ten I don't think.

The breaksticks at Le Celliar. When they ask if we'd like desert I always get breaksticks to go.

Disney Art. Being young and about to enter college I haven't actually been able to purchase any pieces but once I have the money ( and my own home) it will probably look like a crazy Disney museum.

I have an obsessive personality in general, so I have alot concerning WDW.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that a current one of mine is the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Street Party. I do have some personal reasons for it that I won't go into... but when I go to the MK with my husband and son with our volunteer tickets, I WILL be watching as many of the shows as I can, even if it's by myself! :ROFLOL:

Another is RoE. I've seen hundreds of shows since 2000, and I will be seriously depressed when it's replaced, even though I'm sure that's coming in the near future.

I do have more, I am just blanking right now! I'll come back later...

Great thread idea... besides for WDW itself my obsessions would have to be;

- Illuminations! I have to see this multiple times or it's just not a trip to WDW. I have the soundtrack and listen to it in my car all the time. One of my kids lullabies is "We Go On"! :o

- Grilled Salmon from the ASMusic foodcourt. This is a fairly new obsession but I had it multiple times on my last trip! :slurp:

- Frozen Coke. I usually have at least a couple during the course of a trip. A cream cheese pretzel usually goes pretty good with one too! :animwink:

- Test Track. This is my daughters favorite ride and we rode it 5 times on our last trip.

- Character M&Gs. We spend just as much time in a queue to meet a character as we do in queues for rides! Love the characters!

I'm sure I could list more but these are the obsessions at the present time!

Space Mountain - must ride every trip.

Pin collecting -- I get the cheapest 7-pin set (usually the muppets) on our first day, and trade CMs for pins that will remind me of the trip.

h2o Aquatics lotion -- just counted; I currently have 16 bottles under my bathroom sink, one on the counter and 2 in my purse!

I'm also starting to become obsessed with mickey waffles. I've recently realized I've finagled my way into a character breakfast on our past few trips, as well as the upcoming ones..... and it's mainly so I can have some mickey waffles!

I always have to get a Grand Marnier Orange Slush from France in WS.

Also... PENS! I'm a waitress and a student, so I buy mostly pens while I'm there.

We'll have to talk...I've seen things I'm not supposed to see :zipit::D , including the back of Splash Mountain.

Given more time, I do have a few other obsessions then my cookies:

Mary Poppins Stuff: I collect Mary Poppins things, but due to Julie Andrews not signing over the rights to use her likeness, they are hard to come by. While we are there, I'm obsessed with finding things for her, whether it be pins or whatever.

Dole Whips

Chicken Tenders or Chicken Nuggets: There is something amazing about the ones they serve in the park or at the food courts. They are sooooooooo good!!!!

Pirates of the Caribbean!

A few of my obsessions at WDW (and/or DLR):

1. HM: I do have to ride this attraction as many times has humanly possibly.

2. SM (DLR version): It's such a great attraction, much better then MK's version. I'll ride it an average 10x a day.

3. ToT: I love this attraction. I do prefer DHS version, but regardless its' a great themed attraction.

4. EE: Probably my favorite attraction from WDW.

5. I have to meet Donald Duck at every visit, regardless how old I am. He's my favorite and I have to at least have a picture taken with him.

6. The restaurants: There are a few that are MUST. For DLR it has to be The Blue Bayou. For WDW there are Raglan's Road, R & C, Marrakesh, Le Cellier, CRT, 50's PTC, SFDI, and I'm sure there are a few more that I can't remember on the top of my head.

7. Mickey Ice Cream Bar/Sandwich: I gotta have at least one during my trip.

8. Purchasing a Donald Duck stuffed animal. It doesn't matter how many I have. I have to purchase at least one.

9. Resort Mugs: I gotta purchase them for our trip. We use them all the time, and it brings back wonderful memories of our vacation.

10. Park Maps: I'll keep at least one from each park/resort/etc. so I can go through them years later and refresh my memory.

11. TTA. Such a great and relaxing way to enjoy the parks.
