O Canada Film Review

MY friend saw a test show yesterday. And he said he was really good. The opening sequence with Martin Short and the announcer was really funny. Martin kind of spices up the movie. They filmed new sequences and used a lot of old sequences, but they blended them in well. It was hard to tell which was old film and new film, if you never seen the movie before you would never notice.

They also threw in a couple of plugs for some other pavilions. The announcer decided to go to another theater, and Martin has a fastpass for Epcot's most popular ride.

Also, I don't know when the official opening is, but I heard there is unofficial unannouced soft opening tomorrow. So if you are in the vicinity of Canada, maybe you will get lucky. They want to test an audiences reaction to the movie.

How could they possibly improve on...

"Kahh-nuh-DUH! Mon Kahh-nuh-duh! Jay voo sue tear isk memy-blue!"

My point, exactly, Merf. I love that song, and I hate to see all the original Epcot tunes leaving. I hope they did it justice.... until Tomorrow's Child returns to SSE. :lookaroun

Is "Blue Nose" still in the movie??? :lookaroun

Yes, it is still in the movie. The only that was missing that he remembered was the part with the Candanian Thunderbirds, And there was only one real winter scene (ok, maybe two, but the first one doesn't count)

And Canads's most famous export......................................

Celine Dion!! (Not!)

BUt actually they show all the famous people and entertainers that are from Canada. You have to look quick because there is a lot of them

Eva Avila, the new singer [latest Canadian Idol until four weeks from now] is fluently bilingual and a very talented singer, so I'm fairly comfortable that she did it proud.

Official opening is the day I fly out, hopefully I'll be able to catch a soft opening... If not there's always February. :D

I love the China movie redo and I am excited for the Canada one as well. I am still hoping people will know who Martin Short is in 25 years when the next refurb comes along. :ROFLOL:

I've seen her perform, and I agree. I think it's borderline excitement over what she did moreso than concern. Hopefully I can make it down in the next year to see it.

I find it hard to believe there will be a soft opening when most of the attractions staff is relocated currently (save for a few left behind for Kidcot). Who's going to run it, managers?

CANADA! Oh a thosand dawns and sunsets I could see...AND STILL NOT KNOW YOU WELL!

CANADA! Blah, blah, blah something in french...SIDE BY SIDE AND HAND IN HAND!

Oh no Merf, what have you done? I'll be siging this song in my head all night!

Is the great cheezy "Blue Nose" song in it? I loved riffing on that song.

-cheezy 80's voice- "Oh she sets with the mind and the golden tide, something, something, SAILS AWAY!" -really deep 80's voice- "Oh blue nose in the sun..."
:ROFLOL:

I can't wait to see it. When does it open again?

CANADA!

Come on, how people do you really need to run a movie? Someone to give the opening spiel and then push the start button?

My friend told that Eva sung "O Canada" during the idol compeition and it helped her win.

*gratuitous 3-minute long held note by Celine* :lookaroun

(I actually think the 'Bluenose' thing goes, "...turns her head and comes away." I only know that because I rip on the entire movie every time. )

...And people said the movie was fine the way it was. :p

While thats certainly true I believe the Canada attraction rotation has 3 or 4 positions on it (only one maybe two being kidcot, I haven't seen the list myself). Sure it'd be simple for one person to do, but again with the staff currently scheduled in other areas it's tough to pull someone in (unless you were to close kidcot which wouldn't go over all that well with the passport and mask people).
