NYE at Epcot

We went to Epcot for NYE once, I believe in 2001. It was pretty cool because they turned the courtyards in some of the World Showcase pavilions into temporary outdoor dance clubs. Very unique and a lot of fun, but it was so insanely busy there that it turned us off to going to the parks for holidays ever since.

And yes, the cell networks were horrible yesterday. Each of the pictures I sent to twitter took about 10 minutes to upload. Others we were with were even having trouble getting service from about 10pm to midnight.

For those wondering what the interior of world showplace looks like, you shall soon find out.:animwink:

Ah, fantastic. It's been 10 years since I was there!
The only thing impressive is the space there. Otherwise, it could certainly fit another WS pavilion.

Or return the Millennium Village. :lookaroun Heard it was awesome, being I never got a chance to go in there at the time.

Did they have the ToN puppets out?
That's what I want to know as well. Must be fun to see Bird Man out again. :D

Sorry to hear about the network systems malfunctioning. Too much electronic babble, I guess. :zipit:

Thanks for the pictures! Sounds crazy, but it looks amazing and convinced me that it's something I need to experience at least once.

I went in 2008 to Epcot and left at around 12:15am and was back at my hotel which was on 192 right next to I-4 at around 12:30am. I was expecting it to take longer to get back to the hotel because of other people saying that it took them a long time to get to I-4 from the parks. I think that the later you leave the worse the traffic gets. It also probably depends on which road you take to get to I-4.

It mainly depended on what part of the lot you were in. Friends of ours left with us and were parked on the grass in the back while we were in regular "Create". They were out in about 20 minutes. The deeper in you were the way longer it took to get out.

No Tapestry puppets, they've been gone since last year. They did bring back the big digital laser countdown on the back of Spaceship Earth, in combination with the lighting effects they introduced last year.

Oh, really? :(

As for the digital laser countdown, what was projected on SSE previously?

Every year they've used the lasers projected from The American Adventure to display a digital countdown on the back of Spaceship Earth. It was missing last year, instead they had lighting projectors mounted on both sides of Innoventions creating different colors and patterns on the geosphere. This year they had both.

WOW! Those pics are great...it looks like sheer madness. I definitely will try it1 year but not until the youngest is at least 12 I think so that she can handle waiting around.

Gee if they had removed the tarps by New Years Eve it would have eased some of the crowd congestion problems in Innoventions Plaza.
