Thanks for the help everyone! I think were going to head out there at 4pm or 5pm and just hang out with our friends. So far, there are no reports of the park being closed due to capacity so *fingers crossed* we will get in at that point!! We have no interest on going on the rides really... we were going more for the Drinking Around The World Theme actually!!

Thanks again!! :D

I went last year and am planning on going again next year. I got there last year at around 9am and was able to get fastpasses for the three major rides in Futureworld within the first 30 minutes. The trick was that when I went to Soarin' they were handing them to you, so you didn't have to put your pass in the machine. I was able to do the same thing at Test Track and then was able to get a Fastpass for Mission Space also.

I did notice the wait times for some rides was wrong as at 2pm I got in line for the Living with the Seas with Nemo said the wait time was 1 hour, but it only took about 30 minutes. After 9pm I was able to do Spaceship Earth and the wait time was only 30 minutes and the Figment ride wait time was under 5 minutes.

I didn't care about seeing the Reflections of Earth and just wanted to see the fireworks, so I stood near DJ Scooters stage at the Fountain and was able to see all the fireworks with no problem.

It was definitely crowded in the park, but I enjoyed it, because I went expecting it to be nuts.

I remember seeing people still coming in last year after 6pm, so hopefully you will have no problem. Epcot does have a higher crowd capacity then Magic Kingdom.

Just be prepared to wait a very long time for food and drinks. Those lines can seem just as long as the rides! You should be fine getting into the park, it's moving around that becomes difficult.

yeah I think thats absolutely it! NYE at a Disney park is about atmosphere and the fireworks. Forget trying to make it a productive ride day.

Most definitely! If we decided to visit the World for New Years we would just camp out at Epcot, take pictures of the craziness, and enjoy ringing in the new year with thousands of other guests. :D

ehh...not going to be able to get out to Epcot until about 5 tonight... hopefully the line to get IN to the PARK isn't too bad...

staying on property though so I'll take a bus instead of trying to park.

what do you guys think? crazy?

I don't think your crazy. I did it last year and am planning on doing it again next year. It is crowded, but fun. I would think you were crazy if you were heading to Times Square in New York though.

good to hear! I figure get to Coronado Springs by 4. Drop everything off and head straight for a bus. Get to Epcot by 5, maybe try to get something to eat at a quick service line, then stake a place for fireworks right away. I'll bring my camera to take random pictures and keep me entertained. :)

Umm I don't want to burst your bubble but I don't think you can get checked in and get to the bus in an hour's time unless you've done online check-in then maybe yes...

Still hoping, all my pandering for hard to acquire fastpasses has paid off.

I went to Epcot on New Year's Eve 99/00 and then MGM on New Year's Eve 01/02. The crowds are ridiculous, but the trip is worth it if you arrive on say 12/30 and stay the following week because the crowds drop off significantly.

I know people who have snagged prime ROE spots at noon and not moved because if they did they`d loose the spot.

Matt; have fun ;)

I remember my first NYE at Epcot I had to climb up on one of the tables behind the Cantina and pull one of the umbrellas down to get a somehwhat decent view. I've gone for the last 4 years and it's an absolute blast, but sadly I'm going to miss out this year because unfortunately a terrible cold has come upon. Ick. But have fun, you'll enjoy it. Don't expect to ride anything, unless you're going to do some crowd surfing.

Here's some video from last year's new year's eve party:

I'm there now, too. I'm trying to get some photos uploaded, but there's either something wrong with my phone, or the network is overloaded, because I'm having a tough time with it.

We've had a number of reports from sources that the cell networks are having a really hard time dealing with the amount of guests in the parks this week in general, especially MK.

I'm here too. was easily able to check in and get over here in an hour. Ate a quick meal at Electric Umbrella with only about a 10 minute wait and now we're sitting near the front of the World Showcase Lagoon. crowds aren't as bad as I thought...but then again I haven't ventured into the World Showcase yet? Hmm...

My wife and I were talking last night about how we just want to do NYE in Epcot one day. I know the crowds are insane but it would be worth it just to do it once. I don't mind not being able to ride much, we spend full days in epcot with no crowd and only ride a few things.

Okay, cool. While it's disappointing that I can't bring to you all this adventurous event, it's good to know that it's not my phone having problems.

For those of you braving the evening here, good restrooms with short lines are the ones back at Restaurant el Marrakesh in Morocco, and either set on the north and south sides of Odyssey.

They also have the trusty World Showp[lace bathrooms open - AKA the largest bathrooms in all of WDW!
