Norway Pavilion Frozen construction - Frozen Ever After ride (Part 2)

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
Do any of the kids here actually remember the days of queuing in line for something like this instead of the palava it's become?

To honestly answer your question... Nope! I first grew up with the experience of paper fastpasses at WDW.. Which I learned to work very very well. I was excited when I found out on my last trip to Disneyland that DLR still used paper fastpasses.

The only amusement/theme park I have ever experienced without fastpasses was Carowinds some 10 years ago.. But carowinds never has any wait times for their rides anyways.. Even though they still have a fast lane now as well.

But otherwise no. Never experienced a park without em.

So for those of us who aren't booking a hotel and can only book fast passes a month in advance are we basically shut out? Also is it 7am or midnight that the passes go live

Agreed. Living with the Land is my family's favorite ride at EPCOT and I never can get a Fastpass for it because it is tier 1, and we always use the tier 1 for TT or Soarin', and now Frozen. Luckily the line always moves quickly for it.
You need a FP for living with the land? I don't think I've ever seen a wait time longer than 20 minutes for that attraction. I love it but I'd never use a FP on it.

I do sir. My first trip in 87 I waited 30 min. for Snow Whites Adventure.... I didn't mind at all. Then when I started going back in 2001 it seemed perfectly normal for Splash, Thunder, Space, to have 60 min wait times, once again I didn't mind, and I thought the Fast Pass system was perfect. Well, I guess things have to change.... Sometimes for the worst... See you in September my man!

Two hours on a few days after soarin opened which has probably the worst queue of any disney ride. I think it was worth it but i wouldn't do anything close to that amount of time for an overlay to an existing attraction

But it's so much more convenient to go through all these hoops in the comfort of your home!!! :)

Actually.... It's not. For the folks who work, it's a major piece to factor in.. Only instead of it being day of, it's now at midnight, or 7, or whenever the stupid things are released for booking...during the night, or workday.

A few weeks ago I had to stay up late for restaraunt reservations and did not realize I could book my entire trip that first night of being 180 days out.... I was up til 3 in the morning. I'm at my desk at 6:30am. It wasn't a pleasant workday.

I know your post was sarcastic, but I'm hoping someone at Disney reads these boards and sees what a hassle advanced reservations are.

I'm very much looking forward to the second leg of my vacation....where absolutely nothing beyond hotel room is booked/planned in advance.

Getting back on topic... I wonder if there are any further plans to turn useable pavilion space into fictional lands for world showcase. I betcha Disney is keeping an eye on how well received Arrendale (fwiw) will be. Is there a dedicated frozen gift shop or is Norway losing theirs to frozen?

I cannot express how much I'm thoroughly not liking the idea of having to rush online to book my fastpasses for a trip that's still so far out I don't want to think of it yet.

Maybe they should consider going to fastpass tiers only for those who stay onsite - no prebooking necessary and must be different attractions (can't use multiple ones for the same attraction per day):

Deluxe resorts - 6 per day
Moderate resorts - 4 per day
Value resorts - 2 per day

DVC and AP holders would still get 2 per day if not staying onsite and maybe 1 extra in addition to above if staying onsite

Just thoughts off the top of my head. I don't think there is a perfect solution if they offer fastpasses of any kind

There is a new gift shop as part of the new building.

Now does the M&G filter into the ride exit, or will I have to actually queue with my children desperate to meet A&E when dad just wants to ride then check out the Mexian Mojitos after all the fuss is over?
