I didn't say "Forget the Eagles! Let's go Sixers!". Saying things are bad doesn't mean I don't support them, they're just my reflections at the moment. Let's all jump on Vince now. Who's next?
I'm not trying to pick on you but . . . "things are bad"? BAD?!?!? The Eagles are 13-1. They are guaranteed home field advantage through the playoffs. They have the first week of the playoffs off, and they will play the weakest teams available in all rounds of the playoffs.

There are fans out there rooting for teams that have to have 10 things happen just right so that they can even get in the playoffs. They're not posting threads about it and complaining about how bad things are, they're just rooting for their teams and hoping for the best.

Losing your MVP before the playoffs is not considered bad? Let's break Peyton Manning's arm, I'm sure the Colts will be fine. They've had a great year up to this point. But ok, do things your way and I'll do them mine. I just care about my team and you can't just let that be? Fine, go on.

See, teams like the Niners and the Cowboys shouldn't be so down. It's a cycle. All teams will eventually be bad. It's just how it works. The Niners and Cowboys are horrible now, but they have tons of Superbowls wins. And they'll return to the spotlight again someday. Bucs fans shouldn't complain, you had a Superbowl win just 2 years ago. You had your time and you got it. It's teams who never had the glory that should be concerned. They all have a window of opportunity and it can't be wasted. The Eagles are managed really well and will continue to contend for some time, but even then, there will come a time when the Eagles will fall. We can't keep going to the NFC title game forever. That's why we gotta seize the opportunity now.

What about us Bills fans
We were always good, but when we hit the big game, we were out like a blind kid in I-Spy  JK

Okay Vince, let's make this interesting. I'm willing to say right here, right now, the Eagles will win the Super-Bowl. If they don't, I will donate $100 to the Make-A-Wish foundation. If they do win, you have to use the avatar below for two weeks after the Super-Bowl.

I'm not betting against the Eagles! Never did I say they couldn't win the Superbowl, it's just gonna be pretty darn hard now. Like crazy, I want the Eagles to win. Could you just leave me alone? Yeeesh. I mean gimme a break already. Fine, you know what? You win, Gary. I don't care. Whatever it is that you wanted from this, I concede, you win. Now leave me alone.

Oy, humor is lost on emotional fishsticks. We all love you, Vince (otherwise why would we let you splash all over us?). All Gary (or any of us) is saying is you might be overreacting by melting down in response to a crisis that hasn't even happened. (And Gary did so with a good bit more silliness than some of the less tactful among us doubtless would have.)

You don't even have to agree with the points anybody is making. But you can't post threads like this and get upset when people say you're overreacting. If you don't want anybody to disagree with you, your diary might be a good place for things like this.

*messes up your hair and shoves you in the pool*

Not exactly sure what I did, but as of now I am officially stopping whatever it is.

Sorry Vince, I will now leave you alone.

I'm sorry guys. It's just I'm very passionate about my teams. Normally, I'm just a silly guy. But it's different when sports is involved. There are no mermaids. No princesses. No splashes or lap sittings. It's an entirely different side of me, very emotional and intense. There is no reasoning when it comes to me and my teams. I don't act like myself. I will get extremely defensive. I used to get into physical fights over this stuff. I mean it can get really ugly. Attacking any of my teams or questioning my loyalty to them will get me really riled up. Sports in the one thing that set me off. I lose my reasoning. I'm sorry guys. I guess you now understand how much I really wanted that Superbowl. And we were closer to it than ever this year and for something like this to happen now, it really hurts. If you recall, earlier this year, I was the one who updated everyone about the TO situation. I was one of the ones who in March were on TO's site pleading with him to fight the Baltimore trade and come to Philadelphia. It's just my passion. Sometimes passion clouds your mind. Sorry guys.

Ever notice how the things that seem to cause the biggest disputes (e.g., sports, religion, politics) are the things we have the least direct control over?

("My god/senator/linebacker can kick your god's/senator's/linebacker's a$s.")

Just an observation.

But those are the things we care about the most. I'm not really big on politics, but religion and sports are 2 of the 3 most important things in my life (2nd is of course family/friends).

My life would be one big wasteland without sports....and Disney World of course

What else is there to life other than sports, religion, and politics? I mean really, what else is there? :lookaroun

My question is: if family and friends are #2, which is #1? Sports or religion? :D

(I'm only teasing.)

(Of course it's sports.) :lookaroun

Vince, thanks for your honesty and the apology. I understand because this is how I used to be about sports. Trust me, life will change later.

Does anyone remember ESPN's ad campaign "Without Sports"?

"Without sports, there would be no 'next year.'"

Does it mean that I'm old when I look at Vince's avatar and think "Good LORD look at that man's.... body fat percentage. I'm jealous."
