No Tinkerbell after the Fireworks?

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
Didnt I read somewhere on this site that they had announced that there would be no "flights" over a certain period due to maintenance work on the cable etc. if it wasnt on here I read it somewhere.

Did it rain that day? Maby something was wrong with the system. Who knows? Like MKT said "Entertainment is subject to change at anytime".

I was at the MK on May 21 and 24 for SpectroMagic and the Fantasy In The Sky Fireworks. Tinkerbell flew on the 21st, but not the 24th. I honestly think that the reason she didn't fiy on the 24th was weather related. During SpectroMagic if you look at the sky in the direction above the MK Train Station there was great amount of Lightening. Anytime there is the danger of Lightening they limit certain activities. The stopped running the trams to the parking lot at the Animal Kingdom that same afternoon during a storm with Lightening. Those that can still remember the Skyway will remember it being shutdown many times during just the threat of Lightening.

now that you mention it, I did see her the 21st (was eating at Ohana's) and while riding thunder mtn during the spectromagic parade they did mention they may have to close down a few rides and let a storm pass. The storms never got that close but that is probably why we didn't see her, safety. Don't want Tink getting shot of of the sky by a bolt of lightning.

It is the only problem with living in the sunshine state; it is also the Second most lighting in the world last time they checked.

So any time after winter and before November you can have lightning, I remember one winter we had thunderstorms too.

But otherwise it is great for the parks.

I know *I* still believe.... 2nd star to the right and straight on 'till morning. Always fun to follow that and see where life takes you.

I'm befuddled by all the things I COULD say in this column, but SHOULDN'T.

Sorry about your luck! Lightning (even in the distance) means no Tink... just remember that even "where magic lives", lightning is still dangerous.

I also giggle at the "highly paid" comment AND the admittedly lousy photo. I think I saw Bigfoot or Nessie in that photo! :animwink:

No Tink

I can't tell you how much of an idiot I felt like on the 24th of May when I was hyping my cousin and his wife (on their honeymoon) about Tinkerbell flying down from the castle, and then she wasn't there. I thought I might have just blanked out from all of the Disney food I had eaten! But, the spiel was different and they said something on this website about the fireworks changing. My boyfriend worked in Characters and he said that she is highly paid-you'd have to pay me a lot too in order to fly down a wire onto a mattress ontop of tomorrowland! Anyways, Economy's rough Tink, gotta make some cutbacks.

Tink wasn't a budget cutback. She just wan't there. Plain and simple. Like I've said many times before..

1-Entertainment is subject to change without Notice. Guess what folks.. the fireworks are entertainment, and this was no notice.

and
2- Nothing is perfect... even at WDW. There are NO guarantees in life... why should WDW be any different

It is funny reading this thread and seeing how many people were there that night. I spent about 45 mins in Tomorrowland and the rest in Frontierland (stayed on Splash for about 75 mins, it was great!). During the fireworks I was walking from the candy shop in Frontierland to Tomorrowland. I had to have walked right by you!

Never have seen Tink as we watch from FantasyLand, but we did see Rudolph last year from Main Street and it looked like a brown bag stuffed with magazines with 4 brown socks flapping in the breeze as he flew cross the sky. It did not seem to fit as it looked ever so cheap, but I dont know how much it actually cost.

Well, it started as a pretty lousy photo, and it lost resolution when I shrunk it down. Originally, you could at least make out the outline of the CM's body and see that it was a live person.

Port Orleans RS and Wilderness Lodge May 21-26 '03!
Stayed at:
Contemporary 1 time
Polynesian 2 times
Wilderness Lodge 2 times
Port Orleans 4 times
Boardwalk 1 time
Disney Institute 1 time

WHOOOOOOOO! Another lister! HEHEHE! I swear I'm just being a little funny here, but why in the world do we keep getting these sigs with a list of every single place someone has stayed? Don't take this as a personal assualt... just a pet peeve getting picked on.

I've stayed in every resort except the Poly (and it doesn't interest me, so I don't)... wonder what my sig should say?

I say we get trendy with our sigs and go a different route...
