Personally. I think the restrictions on ECVs need to be reworked as well! I'm glad Disney is standing it's ground on Segways. This past weekend at the DAK Bus stops there were two young kids, one probably 12, one 16-17 on ECVs...but the kind with the joint stick on the arm, not the handlebar....and they were rather quick ECVs. And they two kids weren't handicapped or incappable of walking either...

how do I know...

well the younger of the two kids had a HUGE cooler strapped under her feet and had her feet up on it in a rather relaxed position. They were in a group of a bout 12 people, and the rest of the group was walking up to the stop (thee kids had had drivin out infront of them). And the little girl got up from her ECV and ran over to tell her mother (i'm guessing) something...then walked back to her ECV and sat down and waited for the bus....

Priority boarding on those dang busses.....i'll give them priority something!

as much as I am all for disabled and ppl with disabilities, after reading the posts here I guess I am inclined to agree with a lot of you that Segways probably should not be allowed to be used by guests. Now if there was a way to regulate them to ensure they were safe and could only go a certain speed, if they were subject to inspection by WDW techs and they were deemed safe and slow enough, then MAYBE MAYBE,,,,,but I am sure there would have to be other stringent rules and such put into place....but just for now I think the ECVs or wheelchairs would be the safer option....Having said that....my wife has had to use the ecvs a couple of trip before due to her disease she has which doesnt allow her to walk long distances or long periods....she always tried to operate it just like a vehicle, stay out of ppls way and she didnt go very fast in it as we that were walking wouldn be able to keep up with her....

touchy subject.....:lookaroun:lookaroun
