No room clean up at animal kingdom lodge

Just got back after 13 hours at the magic kingdom And my room was not cleaned. Left at 8:30 am did not put out do not disturb sign. Actually don't have one. Bed not made trash not emptied coffee cups on counter. For the money you pay to stay here, the room should be cleaned.
make sure you call housekeeping and/or front desk and ask to speak to a supervisor about it. You should get some sort of credit for the trouble.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
I love that resort but sadly this is an ongoing problem there lately with mousekeeping at AKL. We were at Kidani/AKL (our home resort) and had problems with the housekeeping our entire stay(on the days they were supposed to come etc) in Oct/Nov. Like said before make sure to complain and I would complain tonight To a supervisor etc. Sorry this happened to you. I know how frustrating that can be all too well. :(

No one was around at midnight except a registration person for check in. She said she would make a note but tomorrow I will follow up. Thanks for the advice. I have never stayed here before. Usually POFQ, Riverside or Pop. Even at Allstar music before Pop was built when I stayed there the room was always cleaned. I am on a solo trip because my 82 year old mom who was going to meet me here didn't feel well and called me as I got on my plane to leave (we are in different states). So I am going solo for the first time. Kind of awkward, especially dining. I miss my daughter who is my usual Disney buddy.

There is ALWAYS a night manager on duty to cover the night shift, but have to be stern to get them to let you talk to them. lol. But definately talk to a manager tomorrow. They are bad about passing messages along as to why I usually insist on a manager politely but firm. Lol. Animal Kingdom Lodge/Kidani used to not be this way with mousekeeping but it has gone downhill our last 2 trips there and don't know why. They even one day after changing the sheets have me this horrible rough lining sheet(the one they use like a fitted sheet) as my top sheet under the duvet. It was one with the blue stitch at the seams and no finished edging so clearly not the bedsheets! So rough and not like the sheet they removed off of the bed I had days prior and what is usually there. Why they tried to pass that off as my sheet I have no clue! Not acceptable for the high price tag and no other hotel even cheaper ones have tried to give me a sheet like that ever! Lol
Anywho sorry your Mom could not join you or your daughter, but I hope your trip gets better starting tomorrow! :)

Wow that's sad :( I've stayed there only 3 times and never had housekeeping issues but then again I guess not every room would. Yes defiantly talk to manager and as said above there is always a manager on duty they just can hide a lot of times. Go first thing in the morning and express your concerns I'm sure they'll make it up to you in some way.

For us, we do not make such a mess that we need housekeeping. We keep our room fairly straight ourselves. This is one thing I really like about buying DVC from other people. I don't have to deal with housekeeping. I had a bad experience with it one time because I had to work for 2 hours. It was a DoD call with work. Highly classified and I had to call Disney Security to have the housekeeper removed to keep from trying to come into the room. I told her to stay out 3x, put the room lock on, and she kept opening the door and trying to push it in.

We aren't messy either at all (just me and DH) and are DVC members but when they don't show up on the days they are supposed to every 4th day etc and you are now out of towels, toilet paper, etc and trash is full there is no excuse to come back after a long day and it was not done!! We know the schedule and usually have our towels/wash rags etc on the floor to be picked up in the 4th/8th day and so on and when it's not done and it would only take them 5-10 min to do it to begin with its very annoying. Also on the 8th day and the full clean was done they gave me some funky excuse for a bed sheet (one used as the fitted sheet with the unfinished blue thread seams) his last time we were there and I have never had a sheet like that even at the lower end of hotels!! So I made sure to complain numerous (very politely Even when they were rude) times to no avail this last trip. We had countless problems in the 12 nights we were there! I absolutely love AKV/Kidani but it has gotten worse every trip with mousekeeping. We did not have these problems at SSR and GFV etc while on points either! So annoying!!! Okay my rant is now over. I am very easy to please and for this to be bad enough to bother me it's bad. Lol. :banghead::mad:

Yeah I'm thinking maybe Mousekeeping is under the impression the OP was staying on points.
Even on points as members they missed our room numerous times on our set 4th/8th day etc at AKV our home resort our last 12 night stay in 2014, and never have these issues at other DVC resorts we stay at. It's getting ridiculous as AKV and we keep complaining nicely and hope by our trip this fall the issues are fixed! :)

Interesting. I was there 4/10 to 4/17 and they always got to my room very quickly. There were some days where we were back for the baby's name around 1 or 2 in the afternoon and the room was always done by then.

It's going to be hit or miss obviously it won't happen to everyone, but unfortunately I have been one of them numerous times. :(

Yeah...the only time I've ever had my room missed was when I accidentally left up the do not disturb sign. And boy did they clean the next day. The room wasn't really a major mess or anything, but you could smell the air freshener in our room from the end of the hall. :hungover: As for AKL, while there was one day where they were running late, the housekeeping there was good when we stayed there. Sadly, it may just be the unfortunate luck of OP with this matter.

Nope not dvc. Just got back from Epcot and after complaining last night and this morning it is not cleaned again. Hasn't been cleaned for the two nights I have been here so far. Supervisor will credit me one night fee. Just talked to her, last time I stay here. She told me housekeeping tried to call me and left a message. Well I left for Epcot early and got back at ten pm. No message waiting. I have been to Disney Workd over 26 times since 2000 and never had an issue in any resort I have stayed at in the past. I told her I was going to get something to eat so just have them bring towels and empty trash. I am not a messy person either but trash emptying would be nice when you expect it and are paying for it. And paying a lot. Like I said, last time here. Out if curiosity which is the dvc wing? I am not renting dvc, paying for the room I check out tomorrow and go to another city Fir my aunts 90th birthday. The grounds are beautiful At Akl bit not with this hassle
