No room clean up at animal kingdom lodge

Nope not dvc. Just got back from Epcot and after complaining last night and this morning it is not cleaned again. Hasn't been cleaned for the two nights I have been here so far. Supervisor will credit me one night fee. Just talked to her last time I stay here
So sorry you are having all that trouble!! I don't wish that on anyone after having dealt with the annoyance myself! Lol. Glad you complained though because if people do not it will never get fixed.

Me in and surprise it has not been cleaned and they can't fix the magic band so they have to get it to me in the morning. Waiting to see the manager for the third time tonight to get the freaking room cleaned. I am tired hot and sweaty and I want to shower in a trash free room considering i ate fruit salad last night with the container in the trash

So now she says the computer had me in another room than the one I was in and it ahowed my room as vacant. So she says towels are on their way and the magic band now works. Ok so guess what magic band does not work. Back I go again. So a registration clerk comes with me to let me in and room is being cleaned but I have no magic band they will call me in the morning and when I come down they will give it to me. Yeah right

I noticed on the bed that there is a letter from Disney cruise line addresses to a family, that is not my name, hoping I enjoyed my stay and to have my luggage by the inside of the room by the door by 8:00am so it can be picked up and taken to the ship foru cruise. Hahahaha. Should I go? Probably gonna have someone try to get into room at 8:00 am. And what about this family that is going on the cruise. Where are they? I am showered and in Jammie's and not going to the deskanymore tonight

ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!!!! Again I am truly sorry you are having all this to deal with!!! I would say I'm surprised but I dealt with the back and forth like this on the trip I talked about in this post last Oct/Nov. I would demand that they comp more than one night of your stay for all of this trouble.

Very bizarre. It's a shame that it's spoiled AKL for you, as many of us here consider it our favorite resort in all of Walt Disney World. But I'd absolutely feel the same way in your shoes.

I'm so sorry, I'm beyond frustrated for you. Really what you are asking for is not hard to comprehend. They shouldn't be this incompetent.

Sounds like a real comedy of errors although it's really not funny. FWIW, we had an outstanding experience at AKL and are going back soon. The only thing I really didn't like was people leaving dirty room service trays outside their room on the floor. Is that what you are supposed to do? I would think clearing the trays would be part of cleaning the room or you could call for pickup.

I called down and let them know. New room key was to be delivered by 9 this morning. At 9:20 I called and they brought it up and it works. Just in time to go to breakfast and now check out. I kept looking for candid cameras The whole thing sounds insane I know. Gonna check out and waunder around a bit then go to downtown Disney before I head north for my aunts party tomorrow

Any hotel that is standard protocol to leave your items outside the door when your done so they can pick them up. This is what they tell you when they deliver your food at all hotels. We have ordered room service many times throughout the U.S. on trips and it's always how they tell you to leave it. So not the guests fault and it actually is the AKL staffs fault to not pick it up in a timely manner. Also you are not supposed to have to call them either they know who had room service and are supposed to come check later by the door for pick up. We were always told no need to call just put it outside the door. :)

Fave resort too but you know they even were rude to us when we had this problem last trip and basically told us we need to be out early AM if we want them to come to the room!!!!! It is my my vacation!!!! I'm not getting up early just for you to service my room. We even called when we left the room several times that they could now come we were leaving and were told sure no problem, and they still never showed up by the time we finally got back after 12am 2 nights in a row. No other DVC or regular hotel on property has ever done this to us and we always sleep later most mornings because we get back late the night before etc. We were dumbfounded! Lol
They have a day shift until like 3-4pm/and then the night shift until 11pm or so of housekeepers, so no excuse no matter when we leave the room that it cannot be serviced!! Never ever had this problem at any other hotel and if we did they promptly resolved it and apologized and no need to keep calling to get it resolved or go back and forth like at AKL/Kidani. That was not even the only problems we had with housekeeping either. Even when they finally came after 2 days after our scheduled 4th/8th day etc they did not give us the full amount of towels for the 2 bathrooms that we started with etc. That took several more phone calls to get them to bring us more towels, and they forgot the trash a few trash cans as well etc. There was more issues but I think you get the jist. Haha. :) We hope that this next trip coming up in Oct we do not have these problems again. That would have given them a year to work in their issues. It is our home resort so especially no excuses to get treated how we were treated. We were perfectly nice and pleasant when complaining until one instance they got very rude with us and my DH got a slight attitude (you would too after over 5 phone calls and several visits to the desk). Even the actual Housekeeping manager herself was very rude to us a few times. No guest should go through this many issues with housekeeping whether you are a DVC member or not a member and staying a cash stay at the lodge like the OP. Easy fixes to these housekeeping issues so no excuses.

I know there was a change in management at many of the resort hotels several months back, and I was wondering if there might be some correlation with that. Pure speculation on my part....

This happened to us before management changed as it was last Oct/Nov 14. They changed management there around March of this year or so. I was hoping things would have gotten better but hearing the OP's problem brought back our dissapointing experience at our absolute fave resort and being we loved it so much we bought into DVC in 2013 to make AKV our home resort. Hoping this new management slowly starts getting the housekeeping issues better in time. :)

So happy you never had a bad experience at AKV or other resorts!! We never did either until the last 2 trips at AKV.
The problem you had at SSR was a another problem (of a long list lol) we had on the same visit I described above We had requested a late check out and they never told us yes or no, and we forgot about it actually, so they were extremely rude when they told us we did not have late check out!! They started coming and checking before 10:30 banging on the door to see when we were leaving! For one even regular check out is 11am! Not before 10:30am!! Then we explained about the late checkout and said no you do not have it after checking with the front desk(the housekeeping manager herself went check). We said we will be out ASAP. They kept every 10-15 min, calling or coming to the door, which in turn slowed us down even more. They were extremely rude to us. So on top of everything else that happened prior to that with mousekeeping (not coming clean when they were supposed to several days in a row and numerous other issues ,when it was like pulling teeth to get them to come) they had the nerve to be rude to us when they finally are eager to clean our room!!!! We had talked to the front desk and explained and they said sorry and it was taken care of, but the mousekeeping manager kept coming back! Just leave us alone so we can hurry and get out of there, and if we are still there after 2pm(they charge half a night stay) or if it's after 4pm(they charge a whole night stay) and we were aware of that policy. We had no intentions to leave that late anyway!! So to put it in a nutshell when we needed for them to do something /supposed to do something they didn't our whole 12 night stay, and when we didn't need them they were coming every 10-15 min interrupting us trying to get out of there!!

Stayed three times in the last two years, 1xJambo 2xKidani, no housekeeping issues at all for us. In fact the only issues we've ever had with housekeeping was at BWV where TWO mornings in a row housekeeping knocked on our door before 8:00am! Woke us up one of the days.

The nicest mousekeeping I've experience has been at the GF last summer...but BWV and BWI run a close second to really nice and helpful. And I swear mousekeeping at YC are just plain nasty. I don't know how they can walk the hallways there and just go right on by the trash. I finally called the manager and told them to clean the freaking hallway or bring me a vacuum cleaner and a trash bag and I would.

By the way I absolutely love WDW and our stays usually at our resorts but mousekeeping struck a nerve with us our last trip as you obviously can see. I'm not a complainer on these boards normally or in my daily life. I do but not often at all. Just wanted to throw this out there. Those nasty mousekeepers and their manager will not take my Disney Magic away!! Haha :)
