What's up everyone?!

Hi, I'm Nick and I'm absolutely lost lol. I'm new to the site, my co worker comes here RELIGIOUSLY every day, and now I need to call upon you all for help!!!

I've gone to WDW 2x a year since I could remember (I'm 21)
and now, my (newly) girlfriend and I are planning a trip for ourselves at the end of the month (march 21-23)

I NEED YOUR HELP!

Here's the schedule, you guys are more than welcome to help me plan my vacation!!!

Dates: March 21-23 (anniversary is the 22)
Budget: We're splitting the costs, but let's not go crazy!
Hotel: On property. My first time.
Parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot

But I just have a few questions/concerns?

1. I've never stayed on property, but she has. I'd like to do it, but OMG these prices are insane! Any secrets, and which hotel would suite 2 kids (us lol) better?
2. Sunday night we're hitting Downtown Disney for some partying (that neither of us has done before)..
3. Is there a place to check whats closed at the parks? I don't want to go there and see that my favorite ride is closed!
4. We want to have fun, laugh, and go crazy, but also be able to relax and enjoy each other's company as well.

That's all I can think of for now!
Now it's time for me to hear from you!!!

Thanks in advance =)

1. I'd say try and get into Pop Century or one of the All Star Resorts. I haven't stayed at Pop Century but have family that has and they really enjoyed it. And it would help your budget as it is a value resort.

2. In case you didn't know, Pleasure Island is now closed. None of the clubs are open. There is still lots to do in Downtown Disney, but I don't know if there is anywhere you could party like you wanted to. I have heard people suggest going to The Boardwalk area for partying instead.

3. Check the boards here for refurbishments. This is the best place for getting info and quickly!

4. Have fun and relax. Maybe plan a budget and plan your activities accordingly and then you won't have to worry about funds. As you have both been to Disney before, you both know what you like and now you can experience it together. Enjoy your trip and happy anniversary!

I would second the vote for Pop Century. It's a value resort, with direct routes to Magic Kingdom and Epcot. We stayed there back last fall and it worked out well.

And direct routes to Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney.

Is anyone else having problems with Disney's website? I was looking for park hours/Extra Magic Hours but all it gives me is a blank calendar. Why can't they build a functional, user-friendly website?

If you plan on staying at any of the value resorts and you haven't booked yet, you might not want to procrastinate. Disney has no shortage of guests and that's not gonna let up for a while.

Indeed if your budget is tight however, Disney's transportation system will save you money. You won't have to hire taxis or pay any other fares. Plus you won't have to deal with the parking lots. For example, it takes a while to get from the Magic Kingdom parking lot to the park. Sometimes 20-30 minutes.

Stick with the value resorts. You dont spend much time in the resort anyway. Theres Atlantic dancehall in Boardwalk. Not much left in DTD. have a magical vacation.....

I knew coming here was a great idea!!! =)
Thank you all for responding!!!!

The budget is tight buuut there's plenty of wiggle room...
It amounts to saying "oh we spent $2,000 in 3 days" or "oh we spent $300.." As long as it was an amazing time, then its so worth it, right?
It's frikin DISNEY. Who reeeeally goes there and sticks to their budget? ;)

We deff want to splurge on a few things, the hotel being one of them.

btw- we might be getting the 2 day passes/$99 for free, (her friends father could hook us up, but take that with some salt) but that helps our budget!

EMH would be saturday / sunday, since thats the days we're going into the parks..

That's a great idea, with the transportation system. We will have our own car (and it's only a 2 hour drive from home), but still, it's more fun right? Get to meet more people, enjoy the time, save gas, etc!

aaaand for the big question..

What amazing place can I take her for our anniversary?..

I wanted to do Dive Quest, but they said you have to be certified.. They had the other one but you couldn't dive down to the bottom, just stay on the top..

Even if you have your own car, take the busses anyway. It just saves time and effort. I live about 10 minutes away from Disney and if I could take the busses when I go, I would still. Parking's not bad (in fact a good way to guage attendance) but it can take a while to walk (or wait for the tram) to the main gate. Especially at Magic.

As for your anniversary... that's kinda your thing isn't it? I mean what are you guys into?

As for EMH's the only parks having EMH's between the 21st and the 23rd are Hollywood Studios (21st) and Animal Kingdom (23rd). This can change, but probably won't.

If you are uncertain as to making room reservations and dining arrangements, consider contacting Kingdom Konsultants (a great advertizer on this site, link on first page). They can get you the best deal and make suggestions and reservations for dining without any charge to you. Best part is you deal with a person, not a website or person that doesn't know the best of Disney intimately.

The alternative to DiveQuest is Aqua Tours which is a modified snorkeling experience (you actually use an air tank, not a snorkle, but with floatation vest are solidly stuck on the surface.) It really is a great experience, great view of sea live within the tank and get to interact with the people on the "outside". I've done it twice as my son't aren't certified.
You can also get a discount if you have AAA, Disney Visa or AP.

There are plenty of nice restaurants for an intimate anniversary dinner. Consider California Grill at Contemporary, Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge, Citrico's or Narcoossee's at Grand Floridian, Yachtsman's Steakhous at Beach Club. Many nice restaurants in Epcot, but a bit noisier. You can check out menu's and prices here:

Good luck!

If you are looking for a nice place in Epcot, I would recommend Le Cellier (Canada). It is, by far, my FAVORITE place in Epcot and one of my favs on Disney property.
