No 4:00 entry for MNSSHP?

I haven't heard anything about a policy change for the Magic Kingdom Hard Ticket Events. As far as I know, Guests with valid party tickets are allowed entry at 4:00, even though the event doesn't start until 7:00.

Plus it would create a massive bottle neck at the gate if they restrict everyone until 7pm. I would think that's one of the primary reasons for allowing entry long before the party start time.

I just purchased my tickets today and the ticket is for entrance from 4 - 12am with the shows starting at 7. I am not getting any of the day "free".

BTW, There are many people who stick around from the day passes and watch the fireworks show etc. that didn't purchase the MNSSHP tickets. In all my hard ticket event attendance at WDW, I have never seen anyone escorted out of the parks that didn't have their band on. They just weren't allowed to ride on rides. We aren't getting any of the day "free". We are paying for entrance from 4 - 12. You are paying (for that day) entrance from opening until 7. Our "movie ticket" doesn't start at 7 per say, it starts at 4. 7 is the time all the none ticket holders leave so the paid event can start the "special" shows.;)

Sorry, I have nothing to say on this topic, but isn't MNSSHP one of those Disney acronyms that takes WAY longer to figure out what the heck you're talking about than if you just said "Halloween Party"?

If you have a valid park ticket for MK and a MNSHP ticket you can get in before 7 using your MK ticket, if you only have a MNSHP ticket then you can't get in until 7ish, at least that is what I have seen for both MNSHP and MVMCP

I believe this to be true.

I've actually seen quite a few people asked to leave after 7 who didn't have tickets. After 7pm isn't free to day guests, only party holders.

Yeah, once the party starts the park is cleared of all day guests by the CMs forming a big line in each of the lands and checking wristbands of everyone that tries to walk past the line. Also the rides start checking wristbands. At least, this is how it was in fall 07 and I assume it's still this way. It takes a while though, so some people do get to see the parade and whatnot...but, what can you do?

Oh, and hey! This is my first post! (I think). Guess it's time to finally stop lurking... :)

Then they were being turned around for something besides having a MNSSHP ticket. Illegal costume, wrong date on the ticket... Something like that. They weren't turned around because it was too early.
My apologies, asked wife and she says it was something wrong not the time. I'll be quite now.

We had dinner reservations at Liberty Tree Tavern on the night of the party last year. It was after 7:00 when we finished and we were escorted out of the park as soon as we were done.

After going to the party for the past 5 years sometimes, twice during our stay we've opted out this year..Its definatly a great time , but the price has definatly gotten insane, and it really has'nt changed all that much as far as the parade (which is fantastic and the fireworks are to me like wishes on crack, love them) ....We'll miss it but I'll like having that extra money in our pocket...Which will probably be spent some where else, in Disney!

Good to know they are being escorted out. I really have only ever seen people turned away from the rides but not escorted out. Maybe they are really starting to crack down on it. Regardless, I enjoy the hard ticket events and can't wait to go to the Halloween Party this year. I also enjoy getting in at 4pm so I can take the morning off and chill at the hotel pools:D

I asked this same question of everyone a few weeks ago, and the general consensus was that cast members will usually let you in if you only have the event ticket at around 4:00.

However, I wanted to verify this, so I asked Pam @ KingdomKonsultants, and she confirmed for me that this is not the case. You have to wait for 7:00, and then get into the park.

Of course, if you have an admission pass for the park that day, the issue is moot.

Hope this helps.

With a hard ticket event - you ARE able to get into the park at 4pm. The party doesn't officialy start till 7, but you are able to enter at 4. I've been there the past 5 years, attending one or the other.

At 7PM they do a park wide announcement - welcoming you to the party, and that if you don't have a ticket yet - they are still available for purchase at Guest Relations in City Hall (unless sold out of course).

Should you use your "normal day ticket" for the day - you still have to be able to produce a "hard ticket" to enjoy the party and rec'v your wrist band. Cast members basicly split Main Street down the middle as it gets closer to 7 and the day guests leave (probably more like 5:30-7). (if you are facing the Castle) - exiting day guests are on the left - party go'ers entering the park to the right. No bottle necking, and entry to the park is actually quite smooth - even with the mass of day guests leaving out.

That's the way it was in the past. The point is this year they have changed the policy. Starting this year with MNSSHP if you only have a hard ticket then you don't get in until 7 pm. I've confirmed this with everyone I can that is even semi-reliable and it seems, yes, 7 pm if you have a hard ticket, unlike the previous 4 pm policy.

I do stand corrected. It is a 7PM entry this year... unless policy is changed between now and then, no entry before 7PM.

(Double checked with the Disney Travel Agent site :brick: And two friends in the reservations dept.)

I'm just curious, but how did people know they could get in at 4 in the past?

I just checked my ticket from a few years ago and don't see anything about that. It just says "Event Times: 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM". I only knew about the 4 o'clock thing because i worked there.

If that is true (which I do believe you all) that you can not get in until 7pm, there will be misinformed people out there.

When I called to purchase the tickets I was told I could get in at 4 p.m. I called again today (because of this thread) and was told that I could get in at 4 p.m. Apparently not all of the disney reps have been informed of the policy change.

I feel bad for all the misinformed people out there, just as much as I feel bad for the turnstyle employees.

Yep, and a lot of rather angry guests at the gate. This is going to cause quite a congestion at the entry as well as waste the better part of an hour to get the party on the move. We will see!

Just one more reason for me to be happy that we are now passholders because we always took advantage of the 4pm arrival time at MVMCP.
