Iger is all about synergy. These decisions no longer occur without the "big picture" in mind. Or, in another word, "franchise".
That still makes absolutely no sense according to your scenario that Parks & Resorts had a film cancelled. If anything, the presence of Captain Nemo proposed for Disneyland in the 1970s, at the Magic Kingdom in 1971, at Disneyland Paris in 1995 (with larger proposed) and an entire land at Tokyo DisneySEA in 2001 only makes the case for the parks, if synergy was a heartfelt consideration, wanting a new feature starring Captain Nemo.

An emphasis on quality over quantity is also in direct contradiction to the focus on franchises. Strong potential franchises are going to be selected out of their ability to be expanded and marketability. That is

The fact is we don't have a BK or MI, so tying in mythical creatures to their country of origin doesn't bother me.
Beastly Kingdom had a distinctly European flair in its design aesthetic. To just lump all mythical creatures into the land would have been a mistake. The Forbidden Mountain, with its distinctive Himalayan character, would have been a contradiction to Beastly Kingdom, had both been built.

hey guys ive been away from the forums a while and cant remember my old login stuff so ive started a new

anyway i digress

im probably leaving myself open 2 critisism here but i think that if disney do decide to build a 5th gate,it should be disney seas from tokyo.

its an awesome park and i think it would work sooooo well in florida,MI is there so there you have JTTCOE and 20K.

You have to be purposely distorting what I said to get things this wrong.

Anyway, there are plenty of examples where franchise and quality can be used in the same sentence. Sure it's not easy but it can and has been done. Recent examples are LOTR and the Bourne series.

Not enough room.

I don't agree. The way I look at it its a roller coaster in a mountain anf to justify it for DAK they slapped in a Yeti. IMO the Yeti in a mythical creature that dose'nt belong in Asia. If they had built EE in Beastly KIngdom it would work fine, but last time I checked Yeti's wern't real.

Beastly Kingdom isn't happening - for all intents and purposes it never existed, so the concept of having all of the mythical animals confined to one land is something that Disney is under no obligation to follow. It would be as if someone complained that Pixie Hollow shouldn't be in Fantasyland because at one point Walt Disney wanted a Lilliputian Land and Pixie Hollow should go in that.

This is why I really think they should build a Europe land that would be dominated largely by mythical creatures. Conceptually it can be very similar to Beastly Kingdom.

I have many many pieces on my blog showing unrealized DAK projects.
Just search "Animal Kingdom". The projects never built go WAY beyond Beatly Kingdom(me).

BK could happen... EE was in concept years before DAK and brought back, why not BK?

And for Figment, the yeti is a mythical animal known widely throughout Asia and the world.... the park lacked mythical animals and this filled some of that blank space. Plus the mountain is a huge natural landmark that fits perfectly with the whole nature aspect of the park. How doesn't it fit?
