Came close to buying my first Playstation, but settled on the Switch 2. I've owned every Nintendo console except for the Wii U. Basically, anticipating a Zelda release in a few years, I know this is the platform I'd want. Seeing as Resident Evil is on here, and that Disney has apparently mandated ports to the system, I'm all set for my limited gaming interests. Started playing Star Wars Outlaws and aside from the hair being a bit wonky, the game is gorgeous and engaging. Indiana Jones has already been confirmed and the Star Wars Jedi games are highly rumored.

Wow. This is actually something I’ve seen begged for on the internet for a long time that digital should be cheaper than physical.

Now that it’s actually happening though I expect the internet to also be very mad about it lol.

I'm surprised from the perspective that this could alienate and harm retailers. There are still people who want to buy physical. If smaller stores close because there's no longer business in selling games, it could impact Nintendo as well.

I guess this isn't surprising. Electronics are seeing price increases due to memory demand. Shipping/fuel costs are spiking. Tariffs mean retailers have to charge more to cover costs, and why should digital consumers who aren't impacted not get a break?
