Nintendo Switch 2

I can't remember if it will still have a switch 1 version when it releases but if it does, I will probably pick it up if reviews are solid. I'm a huge Metroidvania fan. So I'm a bit biased with the style of game. The GameCube Metroid is on my backlog list to replay since I never did finish it.
It will have a Switch 1 version and you’ll be able to upgrade it once you have the 2. People are expecting it to be one of the cheap $10 upgrades like Zelda since there’s no extra content just visuals.

That's what I figured as it's development was for switch 1. I don't think I would do the 10$ upgrade as I hate playing with a mouse and I don't have a 4k tv.

Switch 1 will more than likely be getting releases 5, 6 maybe close to 10yrs down the road. When you sell that many units, it's inevitable. I'm calling it now, just dance 2035 releases for switch 1. Lol

But seriously, most systems see good releases for at least 2 to 4yrs. It will be interesting to see switch 2 adoption in 2 or 3yrs after release. Because if it's fantastic, developers won't really string it along.

Exactly! That's why I'm not too worried about getting switch 2 right off the bat. Going in to Holiday 2026 will give us a great idea as to adoption, by people and developers. That's when I'll most likely make my decision.
It’ll still get far more games that won’t be on Switch 1 though. Basically all AAA western third party games and any next big entry from first party. 3D Mario, Luigi’s Mansion 4, next 3D Zelda, etc.
