It's an improved system but not a groundbreaking change like the Wii was, and you couldn't find that system for sale for a full year if memory serves.
Will an improved Switch and a new Mario Kart lead to demand exceeding supply, or will it be a slower launch like the WiiU, which was also an incremental update in some ways.
PS5 was in short supply as well, despite being "more of the same", but that was also fueled by COVID and people eager for a new source of entertainment.
