Before Diagon Alley the same was true for “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.” Then they added the location names for each one. The same could easily be done for Nintendo if there were different lands in different parks.
True that it could change. But as of now it is SNW ;) I really hope uni makes plans to announce that new theme park this year. The wait on what is happening here is starting to get absurd.

haha i was just gonna say how often we rip disney for being slow
but i agree patience here is probably a good thing
Disney tends make announcements too early in my opinion. They get an idea, release the info to the public to build hype THEN sit down to begin designs and details making projects seem to take years to build.

Universal tends to keep more quiet about their projects details longer and don’t announce them until they are ready to start building which seems faster. I’ll take the latter.

To be fair, it was already announced a couple years ago, and if they don't start showing signs of progress soon, this could easily become Universal's Pandora.

Nah -- they are building it somewhere, so it's actually happening and will give us SOMETHING to hype over regardless. Pandora seemed to completely disappear for YEARS. I'm not too worried, fingers will still be crossed for 2021 at USF. Currently i'm planning a late 2019 visit for SWGE, then back end of 2021 for Nintendoland. Seems like a nice timetable lol.

They are building it in Japan about as much as they are building the theatre right now in MK. Sure, they actually physically broke some ground for 6 weeks, but we've now been 6 months without any construction crew on site.

881 days from announcement to groundbreaking for Pandora. 763 for announcement to groundbreaking for SNW in Japan. But then again groundbreaking is nothing but a ceremonial timepoint, with the two projects seemingly having diverged for reasons unbeknownst... but I have many theories, most of them good.

Such as...?

I think most roads lead to the project being plussed (for all parks involved). The landscape for both Nintendo and Universal is very different today in a post-Switch post-D23 world than when the project got final permitting approval in the Spring.
I still loved what they were already doing though...

This is definitely a little sad -- i didn't realize so little construction was going on. Are rides still being cut, replaced, rethought?

From everything we’ve heard they were doing it right.

There's always room for improvement. Let's say rumors about a third gate being fast tracked are true and the delay is related to that. Wouldn't you rather they take the extra time and incorporate the Nintendo attractions into these ambitious new plans? Look at the mess that DHS has been as a result of Disney's rush to beat Universal to the punch.

Whatever the reason for the delay, I am okay with it if the result is a better product.

So do a Diagon Alley like expansion in the new park using one of Nintendo’s other IPs like Zelda or Pokémon. Not put everything off that was already planned for KidZone.

What's the advantage of splitting it up? Maybe they are counting on a large, unified Nintendo land as the anchor of the third gate.

I am assuming whatever decision Universal is making is strategic and not random. You seem to be prioritizing a non-existent deadline. What's the disadvantage of waiting?

Forcing fans like myself to buy multi-park tickets like they did with Harry Potter ;)

Also from a thematic standpoint Nintendo’s IPs are so dramatically different I don’t think they should be jumbled up together.

Valid point about the multi-ticket passes. I assume Universal will factor that into their decision. I'm also assuming the new gate will not be as easily accessible to the existing parks as USF and IOA are to each other. So, that's a consideration.

I agree that you can easily split up Nintendo's IPs. I still don't see an inherent advantage to Universal in doing so. I'm sure whatever they do, they will have their reasons. All we can do is wait and see. I will bet one donut of your choice that the wait will be worth it in the end.

If it's delayed I'll be sad. While I think the third park will be amazing, I'd really love to see Nintendo in all three parks like Harry Potter most likely will be.

So much opportunity there and I think the rumored franchises will only get more popular in the future as Nintendo broadens their reach even more with films, TV shows, and other media. I know that they had tried this before, but I have a good feeling about this time.
