Nintendo partnering with Universal to make attractions.

So the official Universal/Nintendo press releases lied to us when they said Nintendo attractions were coming to Orlando? I'm so glad we have the Thick one here to set the facts straight.

Reread what I wrote and try again.

And yes, I'll put my "sources" against "sources" from the internet anyday.

HTH.

Jimmy Thick- Dont like what people write they try to put words in your mouth, so very passe'.

cool cool...that's the rumors I've heard and sounds very exciting, but I was hoping for more details about the ride designs... i.e. what types of rides are these going to be? coasters, simulators, something like test track, dark rides? go karts?

I'll bet my life it's a blend of practical sets and screens.

Either your sources or you are splitting hairs.

Nothing has gotten the final stamp of approval from Nintendo yet. This is true. But the pitch that got Nintendo to partner up was the Orlando project. And since construction in Orlando is months off, Universal Creative is still tweaking and hasn't submitted plans for final approval yet. But it is a slam dunk they will get approved when that time comes. Nintendo was blown away with the pitch.

Just sayin'.

As well as the land I hope the NX turns out great as well.

You said no Nintendo attractions have been approved for Florida. That is demonstrably false. If they didn't approve of the project, they wouldn't have announced it. They're merely working out final details. And if you have "sources," I'm best friends with the Queen of England.

@JT3000 's username literally contains the initials for Jimmy Thick.

Wikkler- At least I don't have multiple accounts.

Oh don't be ridiculous. Me, Jimmy Thick? Preposterous, bordering on libel!

My only other account is jt04.

They could to Mario Kart without screens. Indoor dark ride similar to Radiator Springs racers. They could Rainbow Road it up new Test Track style. Characters could be limited with you taking the place of a cart driver. Special effects along the way to make your car spin out etc.

Knott's Berry Farm had a Soap Box Derby ride I loved as a kid. A new version of that with modern tech would we great. 4 cars raced each other.

Nintendo Budget and scope announced...for japan at least. 400 million dollar budget which is just around the first harry potter expansion, it's set to open in japan in 2020. No news on the stateside version but I pray an announcement isn't far off? And with kong in 2016, fast and furious in 2017 I would hope 2018 could be nintendo here. But time will tell.

They haven't announced the closure of Kidzone yet, so I figure 2018 is 90% out of the question. There's now a rumor going around that we'll actually be the last to get Nintendo, but I don't have any reason to believe that just yet.

I'd say 2019 is possible. Here's where it will be located. Also, I've read the budget is $350 million.

I know that Nintendo didn't make this game, but this partnership is bringing my hopes up for an American version of "Yo-Kai Watch: The Real", which was an attraction at Universal Studios Osaka where you entered the world of the Yo-Kai Watch anime. If Yo-Kai Watch is successful here (Disney XD is treating it well, but Disney didn't dub the show, Sprite Animation did), then I hope we'll see a version of Yo-Kai Watch: The Real in Orlando!
Here's some pictures of the Japanese version of Yo-Kai Watch: The Real:

I really hope they do not replace ET like they did in Hollywood (although I think I never rode that ride there when I went to California when I was in kindergarten, but I do remember the Nickelodeon area in Hollywood because it had a lot of Rugrats stuff there as Rugrats was my favorite Nicktoon when I was a kid, as well as the building for that Terminator show and the Playhouse Disney Live building at Disney's California Adventure)! But I think that a good replacement for the Barney show (which I also went on and remembered when I was a kid and they still had the Nickelodeon Studios attraction, where you saw the Spongebob opening theme at the end of the tour for some reason...and I think we went during Grinchmas, since I remember watching the Grinch show there, and my mom said I was afraid of the Grinch!) would be that Yo-Kai Watch attraction I discussed earlier.

That would be an awesome idea for the eatery! I never knew about that fact about the Mario games!
Awww, thank you @ColumbiaBinks. I really enjoyed your post too, these are such awesome ideas. Also, welcome to the forum! Anyway, here are some of the various cakes found throughout different games on Mario wiki. So cute.

Princess Peach's cake is strawberry and whipped cream. But, I cannot stand the concept using whipped cream in lieu of frosting, whipped cream and cake is a total abomination, IMO. So Universal, please just use buttercream. LOL.

Have there been any rumors about a Luigi's Mansion ride? A haunted house attraction at Universal would be awesome.
As much as I love the progress and innovation that universal has been able to accomplish during Disney's recent dark age, I think they desperately need this.

They still do not have anything as well made for entire families ad haunted mansion, pirates or jungle cruise. Their bigger height restricted rides is another story but a nice long omni mover themed to Luigi mansion would virtually demand me to fly down and experience it.

What's the projected rumored budget? Wasn't DA $650 million?

Eh. I think universal needs to keep doing whatever their doing, and Disney needs to keep bringing us stuff like Everest. Not a fan of single IP lands and simulator based rides. Disney was known for not doing that for a long time. Except star tours of course. But that pinoneered the tech.

Going forward, single IP lands is what we are going to see. Same with simulators, they are the future. An AA rich Luigis mansion could be a modern day groundbreaking attraction.

i disagree. the future of attractions is simply new story telling. there is such thing as too much of one thing *cough harry potter*. single IP lands arent my forte. But if dinsey is low enough to start doing it, i dont want to see all of their rides be "a blend of screens and practical sets."

Disagree all you want, story telling will be done by screenwriters and Disney will just take it from there. There are no new ideas being tried out by Disney and all new attractions will be tied to movies..

As for ride technology... it's going to be screens from everyone..
