Nightlife?

Hey! So me and my roommate just booked a trip to wdw (yay!!!!:sohappy: 75 more days) but I was wondering what kind of nightlife there was. We are 19 and 20 so are we still allowed in the "adult lounges"? She found the lounge at CSR and wasintrigued by the description of music and dancing, is it any good? Is the Atlantic Dance Hall better for dancing? Or is Jellyrolls a dance place (I was under the impression it was more a piano/music lounge but not so much dancing)? Just wondering. Thanks!

Jellyrolls and Atlantic City Dance hall are both 21 and up. I don't know about the lounge at CSR. I stayed there but was too busy to go check it out. I don't know if you have access to a car but I know that Roxy downtown is 18+ and you can go to Ale House but just not drink but I don't know if people dance there.

Thanks Bug... that's disappointing we don't have a car so that's not an option really. Stupid drinking age... we just want to dance and have a good time. Is there anywhere on property anymore that's 18 and older that has nightlife other than shopping at DTD?

Sorry not that I know of. Before PI closed there wasn't even a place where you could go dance under 21. My friend and I wanted to many nights.

Really? I thought some of the PI clubs were 18 and over?... not that it matters anymore:( . Okay so would you guys suggest just hanging out at DTD or would just hanging out on the boardwalk be fun? Also I was on the boardwalk site (hotel and recreation) and couldn't find Beaches and Cream, is it still there? Also does it stay open pretty late?

Beaches & Cream is across the lake at Disney's Beach Club Resort. You could all spring for a cab one night and go to Universal's City Walk...that's a popular place and lots of local kids go there because you don't have to be 21....just some of the clubs are restricted. Best time would be a Friday or Saturday night..lots of young people there on those nights.

That is because beaches n cream is not at the Boardwalk silly, it is at the Beach club and yes it is still there. Don't feel bad about the mistake. The first time I decided to go to Beaches n Cream I went to the Caribbean Beach resort.

The kitchen sink will give you a big one of those.

Well, feel free to dismiss this opinion, but with PI closed, and you two with no car, I'd personally suggest that you use this occasion as your final opportunity to be "big kids." Take advantage of late night EMH in the parks. Hang out in DTD like it was a big ol' outdoor mall. Get together with two other people, swap partners & kick each other's butts at the Astroblasters in Disneyquest. Lounge poolside and giggle as guys try to offer you drinks. Go sing karaoke at the Swan. Don't be afaid to look goofy with each other, because a couple of years after being "legal" you're gonna regret the time you spent trying to find a place to dance instead of just having fun in what might be considered the biggest playground around

don't worry we are in no way trying to grow up too fast. I didn't know swan had karaoke... i think we will definitely check that out. Thanks for all the help!

...and Master Yoda I have already told my roommate that we are going and getting that. I can't wait!!! Ice cream is up on my list of things that are necessary for life.

18+ could get into CW & AC but no where to dance. Beaches and Cream is sorta hard to find. At least when we looked for it the first time we went. We couldn't get around one way so we ended up going in by Cape May then down some hallway and back outside. It was worth wondering around for 10 min. My friends and I are going there our first night for the Kitchen Sink

My kids loved it. The were quite surprised when dad told them that they were getting ice cream for lunch.

I was having a good morning until I saw the photo of the Kitchen Sink... we've had two attempts at it (once with 4 people and once with 5) and have come away wanting to die after each try.

Karaoke at the Swan is great... it's in an awesome sushi bar called Kimonos. I was considering getting up there, but it was really intimidating as EVERYONE who went up there was terrific and made me not want to be the one clown performing that evening.

It took 9 of us to finally kill that thing.

I love ice cream and I really want a picture with one... haha. Does anyone know if you can get it on dining plan as a snack or do you have to give up a quick service?

Last I remember, the Kitchen Sink was in the neighborhood of $22. If nothing else, it's really good and it'll give you a story to regale people with.... or... well... just.... :hurl:

Katherine, many moderate and deluxe resorts have a live entertainment schedule that varies from time to time. The only way I know of to get information about what's going on, though, is to call the hotel directly. Central reservations, disney dining, and disney recreation all do not have the information (at least the last time I tried 1-2 years ago). So you have to call around to all the hotels, and they may only have the information for the coming week, so you'd have to do it right before, or when you're there.

For example, when I was at the CBR in '99, there was a steel-drum band at the pool bar 1 or 2 nights a week. At the POFQ, in '05, there was a saxaphone/flute player with computer accompaniment who was quite good. At CSR in '05 I do not remember live entertainment. The lounge was mostly conventioneers drinking and eating bar food, and talking shop. Things may be different now, though. I've heard that POR has a great piano player that I think I've heard is there quite a few days of the week.

The crowds are small at these events - they're mostly intended for guests of the resort they're at. So, while not a big-club atmosphere, they could be fun.

Without a car, though, it will be tough to go from one resort to another late at night. If you can transfer busses at a nearby park that is open, then it won't be bad at all. But in December the park hours might be too short if you want to stay at the lounges very late. You can always go through DtD, but that can take a LONG time. The best way is to get a cab. That'll cost you between $10 and $20 (incl. tip) depending on which two resorts your going between, but it'll be a LOT faster.

Have fun on your trip no matter what you decide to do!
