Also, can anyone honestly attempt to argue John Tortorella is not the Coach of the year at this point. The injuries Columbus has with already having such little talent is just nuts. And they have a point streak of something like 12 or 13 games, including beating Boston last night.

So less that 30 games left, and the Leafs are currently on the outside looking in with an injury to their starter. Is it really possible they miss the playoffs? That city will melt down, especially considering they are going to lose 2-3 of their dmen and will not be able to replace them.

Meanwhile, Columbus lost their number 2 center. And won again. If they make the playoffs, I'm starting a petition to rename the Jack Adams.

So Columbus have now lost Seth Jones and Cam Atkinson. For those keeping count, this team is without it's:

#1 forward
#1 Dman
#1 Goalie
#3 Dman
#2 Center
and 2 Top 6 forwards

There are others injured as well. With all do respect to Pitt who have had their own share of injuries, I don't want to hear about how Mike Sulivan is running away with the Jack Adams because of the injuries he has dealt with.

Also worth pointing out Lebrun stated Carey Price has been the best goalie in 2020. Merlikins has 5 shutouts in 2020 with a 20 point better Save percentage than Price in 2020. Vasy also is 20 points higher than Price, and in mid Feb, still has not lost in regulation in 2020. Sometimes I wonder if the national media guys actually pay attention to everything going on.

I do agree that both the Penguins and the Blue Jackets have played incredible with the amount of injuries they have had this season. Merlikins has been a savior for the Jackets as has Jarry. As for my Avs we have been without Landy and Mikko as well. I still say in my opinion we have the best player in the league in Mackinnon and our Defense is outstanding as well. If our Goalies would start to click we could go really far.

Who is looking forward to the upcoming NHL Playoffs? I for one am missing my Preds and want the puck to drop again.

I'm pumped, though the draft thing is just idiotic to me. I'll be really curious how this goes. I think Toronto found probably the worst matchup it possibly could (and the joy I would take in them going out Round 1.....).

I do think Tampa is in a ton of trouble. They are historically a pretty slow starting team (they always take a bit of time to start the season to get going), and with what Cooper and Killorn stated on why they didn't like the format, they obviously are not over last year at all, and they also are already buying into excuses.

Yeah im not a fan of the 24 team format at all.

What would you like to see as the alternative? The two I could think of would be just play out the season (so 3ish weeks), or just do 20 teams (so a wildcard play in). I think I would prefer to play the season out, but logistically I'm not sure it's possible. I think for that, you would need something equivalent to WDW for basketball where you have multiple rinks with a TON of hotels nearby (gotta remember you are talking roughly double the amount of people than that of the NBA) for direct access. Not ideal, but I'm alright with this kind of expanded playoffs. Now if they stopped being stupid and just decided they would do the draft lottery after the first round of play ins.

I don't think they had much of an alternative to having a 24 team playoff this season with the regular season being cut short some teams on the cusp of making the playoffs in the regular format would have been slighted and probably felt with the games they missed in the regular season they lost their shot. So they expanded it a little and I think it actually makes for an exciting tournament of hockey. I for one am looking forward to it.

My main concern now is just being able to get back on the ice with all these spikes in cases in many States there might have to be another delay in starting practice for the team which then will just delay the entire playoff system. I want this to go off and the teams back on the ice, but I want it done with all the safest measures for the players that there can be. If that can't happen then I can live without one seasons playoffs of the NHL.

I really like the name. Then saw the colors and the logo, and absolutely love it. Love its an S like the old school metro team.
I’ll give it a month before they starting selling the “third” Jersey with the squid on it.

I bought a T-shirt last night...just a cool look. I have no allegiance to them other than Ron Francis being one of my top 3 players all time
