You did better than The Washington Post's mock draft. They got 1, 2 and 4 like you did and 25 (Verrett to SD) but that's all.

The Pats could have just drafted Brady's successor. Jimmy Garappolo out of Eastern Illinois, Tony Romo's college.

We're into the 3rd round now.

I'm still kind of wondering if this means the Patriots may be warming to the idea of trading QB Ryan Mallett to the Texans.

I've heard a few theories. One is what you just said. Another is the Pats don't think they'll be able to keep Mallett when he gets to free agency. Another is they were just drafting the best player available; you can never have too many good QBs.

Very true. The Pats are pretty good at assessing talent and managing their roster accordingly, so he may be staying. Starting to wonder if maybe the Texans are looking at someone like AJ McCarron.
