Personally I believe Eli's career is starting to go Matt Hasselbeck-like. It was good while it lasted, but sometimes you need to revert to a backup role. I don't know if he's there yet, but he's getting there. I don't think Eli will be willing to be a backup, though.5-0 in the preseason. Do the Giants win a mini Lombardi trophy courtesy of Tim Cowlishaw?
It's the new year, but the same old problems. If the Giants offense doesn't get their you know what together, I fear Suh and Ansah will both get a 5 sack game on Monday Night. That Odell Beckham pick and passing over Zach Martin really hurts right now. I don't get the offensive line sometimes. It's almost if they're too scared to do their job. Where's the Michael Oher mentality of protecting Eli like family? I certainly don't see it. And if Eli can't run the offense, it may be time to throw Nassib in the fire because if Eli truly is a round peg that can't fit into a square hole that is Ben McAdoo's offense, stop jamming it and find another round peg.

There's a reason why it's a young man's game. That's why draft-and-develop is so crucial. It's impossible to predict who will hit the wall and when. There is a reason why NFL GMs and coaches panic whenever players turn 30, especially running backs. The body slows down in many ways with decreased flexibility, decreased stamina and loss of muscle mass to name a few. Eli is in mid 30s and he'll be 34 come January 2015 and with this new offense, it is asking a lot to change your style of play in your mid 30s. If Eli can't run the offense, why force it on him?
You shouldn't have to force it on him. He is a big boy playing in a professional league. If he doesn't want to adapt then I don't feel sorry for him. He should try to emulate his brother, who has shown that a person's love of the game can fuel the transformation needed to stay viable in this league. There is a reason why NFL GMs and coaches panic whenever players turn 30, especially running backs. Is it really a good thing if it's NFL Network that's showing them?Just discovered this thread. I'm a Browns fan living in Ravens country, so that makes football season doubly depressing. I'm cracking up at all of the Johnny Football talk on here, the hype over him is insane to me. Personally, I'm thrilled that he's not starting. The only good thing that came from him getting drafted is that NFL Network actually showed 3 of our preseason games live.
Normally, no. However, it's the only way to watch their preseason games outside of Ohio. Not that it was a pleasant preseason until last night. Is it really a good thing if it's NFL Network that's showing them?
