How are you guys liking the enforcing of the defensive pass interference rule? Any stand outs of it being enforced that made you think, "hey these guys are athletes let them play?"
I think the league likes Peyton Manning too much to let him get clobbered by tough defenses. This rule emphasis came after the embarrassment against the Seahawks in the Super Bowl. The last major emphasis on pass coverage came after the 2003 AFC Title game where Peyton got roughed up. Coincident? I don't think so.

Now, I know it might be going too far to say it's just for Peyton, but the league wants more Peyton and less Sherman. Defense doesn't sell nearly as much as offense.

Let them play. It's a tough game for tough people. Football invites contact.

That's interesting what you say about the 2003 AFC Championship game. Yeah I'm a Seahawks fan but I watch other football games and this rule takes some of the fun out watching. So, for me it's not that I'm concerned for the Seahawks defense but for all defenses. I find the passing game boring compared to smash mouth football.

The thing is the NFL has been to trying to sell the game by offense since the late 1970's by creating the Mel Blount rule in 1978 and made more rule changes for catering to the offense since than. The Mel Blount Rule is the five-yard bump rule in which the only time a receiver can be bumped by a defender is within five yards of the line of scrimmage. After that, any contact will result in a penalty.

Mick Tingelhoff got nominated for the 2015 Pro Football Hall of Fame Class by the senior committee. I am a Packer Fan since the 1980's, but I have no problems with voters having a chance to vote for him instead of Jerry Kramer.

I have no problems with Tingelhoff got nominated by the Senior Committee because of the amount of all pro's, pro bowls and the fact Tingelhoff played in 240 straight regular games in a career that most had 14 games in a season.

The only people that played in more straight games than Tingelhoff is Brett Favre and Jim Marshall.

Big time Packer's fans here - my husband especially. New York Pack fans are an oddity. He always had to point out that he's a lifer - and didn't just start liking them when they got a better team.

Packers look strong this year AND I got J Nelson on my Fantasy team - it's going to be a great season :)

I've liked Johnny Football for his play... but when he flipped off the skins bench... that made me like him even more. Purely for the fact that I'd do something like that, shows passion. People need to chill out cause he makes a hand gesture... its crazy that you're not allowed to get worked up this day in age. You show your competitive nature and you're labeled a poor sport, immature or any other number of negative connotations. Johnny is good for the game.... I'd rather him flipping off players than getting a DUI.

With that being said, I HATE that he's on the Browns, couldn't have gone to a worse place.... maybe Oakland.... but I'm still disappointed he landed in Cleveland!

I'm rooting for the Browns as well as the Caveliers. I think Cleveland deserves some love.

I can't stand Manziel personally. As far as I see it, I think he's Tim Tebow with Terrell Owens' attitude! He may be 21, but he acts like a 13 year old and not a mature one. It's no wonder so many teams passed on him. His behavior and antics were red flags for GMs. But it's the media that I loathe even more. Everyone is hyping this guy when he hasn't done a thing in the NFL. He may won the Heisman and no defense in college football was able to stop him that year but that's no guarantee for success in the NFL. He may have beaten Alabama on the road one but Nick Saban's defenses can never defend well against dual threat QBs. This guy won no national championships, won no SEC championships and won no BCS bowl games. Manziel is not used to cold weather being that he played his college and high school days in Texas so I do think the environment will not bring out the best of him.

Not to argue you here, but I don't really blame the media. They give the fans what they want: controversy. Manziel is controversy at its finest. Controversy sells, and the media is going to focus on what sells.

That's true. But does anyone else outside of Cleveland care about the QB situation? I would say not. Fantasy football owners would be insane to draft any Cleveland QB any way.
