My fantasy opponent had Luck and Sporles. Tonight's game was like a horror movie for me watching the massive lead I had shrink away. I still won 112 to 109. OT would have killed me.

Report: Adrian Peterson accused of injuring another son in June
NFL.com
KHOU-TV in Houston reported Monday night that Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was accused of injuring another son in June. According to the report, Peterson allegedly disciplined his son for "cussing to a sibling," resulting in an injury to the four-year-old boy's head.

The boy's mother reportedly filed a report with Texas Child Protective Services. The results of any investigation are unclear and no charges have been filed in the case. NFL Media has not yet been able to reach the Vikings or Peterson's attorney for comment.
This is somewhat misleading. Apparently the injury was caused when the boy accidentally hit his head on the carseat, not from an actual blow of any kind by Peterson. CPS was called, but they dismissed the case since it was the carseat that caused the injury.

But, I don't condone Peterson's actions AT ALL. Nor do I hope that he is cut from the Vikings and banned/suspended from the NFL. Ideally, this is how I would like the situation to play out:

-Vikings bench Peterson until case is cleared up
-Peterson decides to go to child abuse counseling sessions (and actually learns his lesson there)
-Peterson donates large sum of money to child abuse charities
-Peterson is happily reinstated by Vikings. Never beats his kids in a way to leave open cuts or bruises again.

This is the best situation for Peterson, his kids, the Vikings organization, and their fans.

Interesting info - the first report is always missing little tidbits like that.

When I hear "OSU" I still think of Oklahoma State, not Ohio State, mostly because my father went there. It's also where former Redskins' star DE Dexter Manley went. My father and Dexter both managed to stay in good academic standing for 4 years, but that was a more impressive accomplishment for Dexter, since he didn't know how to read.

And we have a new leader in the pickem!

Amazing week for @acishere and honorable mention to @OSUgirl77 !
Thank you second placers! I wasn't expecting picking the Rams would send me to the top. I promise to be just as humble as the guy below during my time as head of the leaderboard.

Also this probably means I'm going to do terribly next week to balance out the universe once again...

I could be obnoxious and change it to tOSU, as in THE Ohio State University, in order to clear up any confusion. ;)

I'm thankful my team has had a long string of success. I've only witnessed one losing season since I started paying attention to the NFL (2008, Rodgers first year as starter). Then even before I started paying attention, there has only been one losing season I believe (2004).

EDIT- In my lifetime, I forgot to add.
You are lucky because when I started to follow the NFL in 1987, the Packers only had 1 winning season from 1987 to the end of the 1991 season. I was a teenager when the Brett Favre era started.

During my lifetime, the Packers only went to the Playoffs once before Brett Favre became a Packer.

When I a kid, the following teams ALWAYS stunk:
Patriots
Saints
Colts

Funny old world ain't it.

While we're on the topic of colleges and their three letter abbreviations, whenever I hear USC, the first thing that comes to mind is University of Southern California, though if I were to say that to people in South Carolina, Gamecock nation would have a problem with that! My feeling is if South Carolina is talking about the USC Trojans in any way, shape or form, they probably refer to them as Southern Cal or SoCal. As for MSU, I associate Michigan State with that more so than Mississippi State or Montana State. It's probably because I followed Michigan State football and basketball as a kid. I don't know why. Maybe it was the color green and green is my favorite color? Though as I got older, I really started to respect Tom Izzo, a consistent winner who is never afraid to schedule early season challenges like UNC, Duke or even Kentucky. And I'm not gonna lie. Mark Dantonio is gaining my respect. His Spartans team have only lost ever since he made the "Pride comes before the fall" comment after losing to Michigan for the first time. And filming himself at the Rose Bowl before the season began to motivate his team to get there and winning it despite suspending one of their star linebackers. Big respect points there.

WE actually call them many things around here: USuC being one of them, others I can not mention here. They actually refer to themselves as The believe it or not, but that is symptomatic of their culture. They are occasionally referred to as Carolina, unless of course you are talking about basketball, that of course means the light blue school to the north.

I believe Southern Cal was founded first, and likely started using the abbreviation first. I have noticed the institution in Columbia has started using just plain "SC" as of late. Probably a good branding idea on their part.

That makes sense considering I see "Carolina" on South Carolina's football jerseys.

Hey, the Cleveland Browns WON!!!!!!!! A miracle. As for Ohio State, over ranked!!!!!! GO BLUE!!!!!
How many points did Michigan score against Notre Dame? Oh, right, none. How many time has Michigan beat OSU in the last 10 years? Once? When we lost our coach and QB? But, yeah, go blue...

Mark Dantonio is such a class act and a great coach. I was so sad when he left Ohio State to coach at MSU. He was an awesome defensive coordinator. Love Tom Izzo, too. Nothing but respect for MSU's programs.
