After seeing a few Packers pre season games and highlights, this doesn't surprise me. Not a pack fan but if they kept him and Rodgers went down, the whole offense would go down
Hands down. Harrell didn't lead a touchdown drive this entire preseason, and he didn't show that he had a NFL arm. Young at least can move the ball with his feet, and he at least has an equal arm to Harrell (better, IMO). When Rodgers went down for a drive after getting poked in the eye last season, Harrell fumbled a snap. And now if Rodgers goes down for a drive, Young brings his running ability to the table, which is something teams won't prepare for because he's just a backup.

I think we're going to have to find a veteran FA for the O-line. He won't have to be a Pro Bowler, but just enough to solidify the line. I also think the secondary will get better as our rookies learn throughout the season, so we need the protection so we can just outscore our opponents and stay in the hunt.
We are a few pennies under the cap and would agree we will add a vet, maybe on both sides of the line. Peria Jerry might be a casualty, freeing up a few more. It wasn't all bad to see the rook get torched...hopefully he will really want to prove his worth.

I'd take Harrel as a backup.......

He's yours! :D

I actually do want him to find a home (outside of teams I hate), so the Falcons would be a great landing spot! He's a nice guy overall, and deserves a spot as at least a #3 QB somewhere. The Packers just don't keep three QBs usually.

Been a minute since we've had a real back-up....

I looked up ATL's backup QBs, and I didn't recognize the names, and I typically do recognize them. So I assume they really are crap. But there are several options out there that are probably better than what you have. For example: Byron Leftwich, Graham Harrell, Scott Tolzein (maybe), Tyler Thigpen, Trent Edwards, JaMarcus Russell (maybe), AJ Feeley, Troy Smith...

Those are just some from a list of FAs I found.

We had Leftwich a few years back; he missed games because of a bruised tail bone.....Thigpen is the best on the list.

Alford has swagger, I'll say that. Even after he got burned, he didn't hang his head and play badly. He bounced back and made that interception. Honestly, he's impressed me more than Trufant, but then again Trufant hasn't seen much action come his way. I agree about Peters.

Our backup was Chris Redman, who is/was an insurance salesman. That should tell you how bad our backup QB situation is. Dominique Davis has shown hints of talent this preseason and last. I trust him to come in and finish a game when we have a sizable lead. I don't trust him if he has to throw the ball alot and/or start.

DuJuan Harris (our number 1 RB, who has/is injured) was a used car salesman for a couple weeks after being cut by Jacksonville. But the media played that one up more than they should have. Harris did do pretty well towards the end of last season when he was first played.

Well, the good news for my G-men was that Pierre Paul was activated from the PUP list (Physically unable to perform list) but on the other hand, sadly Stevie Brown is done for the year, which only hampers our secondary even more! :banghead: I'm not optimistic about Aaron Ross considering his national TV blooper which led to a highlight reel snag from Reggie Wayne and Terrell Thomas, well, I don't know if he can stay healthy!

Can't argue with that list too much, although I do think Seattle/San Fran is a toss up and I'd put Detroit over Minnesota.
I gave Minnesota the benefit of the doubt for making the playoffs last year. I really have not idea how the NFC North is going to look. All teams are potential playoff teams, IMO. I think Green Bay will be the top, though, just based on overall talent.

Packers number 1 running back, DuJuan Harris is likely done for the season after being placed on IR due to injuring his knee. He was expected to be part of a 1-2 punch with Eddie Lacy.

The Lions may have a bunch of problems off the field but they're not as dysfunctional as the Jets. At least they have a good foundation with Stafford and Calvin Johnson. The Jets, meanwhile, they have no foundation!
