Patriots signed Danny Amendola to replace him.

Packers might lose Greg Jennings. He's one of my favorite players. Although it's looking as if Jennings is going to remain a Packer because he's not getting the offers he wants.

I know, I hate losing players. Donald Driver, Charles Woodson and Greg Jennings would be far too much in one year for me! they are three of my favorite players. :(

Ed Reed is visiting the Texans, too, and I have not heard anything to lead me to believe that he would return to the Ravens. I honestly don't know what the Ravens are doing. Yes, their defense was getting old, but they don't need to clear house on everyone. Unless the Ravens get a tremendous draft/trade/free agent, the window has closed for them.

there are still deals to be made on players... the raven's issue is we just need TOO MANY. Losing all but 2 of our starting LBs (Suggs and Upshaw).. losing BOTH safeties (no way Reed stays unless he takes the vet minimum.. which doesn't seem likely). Its just such a huge hit at once...

And no it doesn't have much to do with the Super Bowl.. more to do with timing of contracts. Ellerbe and Kruger both would have attracted good offers even without the Super Bowl.

Yeah, no clue what we're doing. Most of the fans here figured that this year was our last chance for a while, so we're basking in the Superbowl champions glow. There's still major Ravens fever. Everything is purple. I switched to doing all my schoolwork in purple and my teachers have not said a word. We usually have purple fridays in football season, but they seem to be continuing...my school paper did coverage. Just an entire page of Ravens stuff. Baseball season will have to start officially before it calms down...On this bright side, even though the Ravens are getting old and it will probably be another 12 years before they win a superbowl, the Orioles are young fresh, and ready to go to the playoffs again. Hopefully. They seem to not be making too many stupid decisions for once. The guy they traded I fully agreed with them getting rid of.

From what I've heard, financial woes...

Well hate to say it but even after those Dirty Birds traded away/released some of their better players, their still better than my Steelers. We officially went from Above Average team to Average team after what has happened to this team in the last few days. Tomlin drafts have sucked since he's been our leader and now I wish I had Cowher back.:( However after saying this, they are still my fav and a contender to reckon with.

Not really.. we were in good cap shape. We were below the cap coming into the Football New Year.. the issue was too many free agents coming up at once and several high profile ones that were UFAs. You simply can't sign them all.

Our only saving grace is that McKinnie is the only lineman that was up in contract talks.. since linemen are so freaking expensive. I don't count Harewood..

We will always have to reckon with them. And I will always bash the Steelers. I'm hoping they're bad again next year, even if my Ravens are also bad.

My cousin and her husband are Steelers fans. It's quite interesting on Sundays at my aunt's house...

Age and money.. and poor performing draft choices coming up behind them. The straw has broken there and some rebuilding is needed. Good news is.. Ben is still young enough you can probably get 4+ more out of him if he doesn't snap :) But you definately need someone in the wings.. and its not gonna be Leftwich or Batch :)

Financial woes are killing veteran players this year. Teams are cutting all of there veteran players because the salary cap stayed flat (increased only $2 million). Long time greats like Charles Woodson, James Harrison, Adrian Wilson, Dwight Freeney, Ed Reed, etc are all having to be let go because nobody can afford them. My opinion is that teams that are strict with their salary caps and don't dig into free agency too often will succeed in the years to come. The have succeeded already. Remember the Eagles a couple of years ago? They were a playoff team and lost all of that because they got greedy. The Packers won the Super Bowl in an uncapped 2010 season, and they are one of the most disciplined teams financially in the league. That says something to me.

I don't think the Ravens' window has closed for a while. Just for a year or two until they can get their defense back. Heck, they might even get it back this offseason. A lot can happen from now to September. Flacco's record setting contract certainly takes a huge chunk of change out of the Ravens' cap space. I'm kind of scared when Aaron Rodgers gets his new deal, which is expected to be quite a bit larger than Flacco's.

Quarterbacks are paid huge amounts. And in the words of former Steelers, Jaguars and current Packers writer, Vic Ketchman, whoever figures out how to devalue the quarterback will have an immediate advantage over other teams.

I covered a lot of ground with that. One things led to another and I just kept going. Hope I didn't bore you. I just love the NFL. :p

The Steelers have finally hit the transition period. The players like Hines Ward and James Harrison are gone. They are starting to transition to a newer, younger squad. Polamalu is starting to get up there, Ryan Clark isn't that young. It's time for those backups to step up and do what the others did. Only time will tell. However, I see another 7-9, 8-8, or 9-7 season coming up during the transition period.
