Wow, what a game! Congrats to the Baltimore Ravens and their fans for coming home as champions. Not 100% sure how I feel about that missed holding call. On one hand, the final score says Baltimore is the winner. On the other hand, I wonder how much of that should be credited to the ref missing the call. I'm not completely sold on this being a legit win, but still a win nonetheless.

Hats off to both teams for an incredible season!

The game wasn't over...

One can't dwell on a single call - its an entire game. Less we forget all those trips to the red zone for the 49s and came away without Tds while the ravens were scoring each time.

There were lots of other no calls earlier in the game too..

It's a big swing.. defensive holding would have been half the distance to the goal and a new set of downs. Instead it was turnover on downs. If they scored, they would have gone for two, eating even more clock, leaving the ravens to kick a FG for a tie or win.

It doesn't matter if the ball was catchable or not.. defensive holding doesn't have that requirement like PI does.

But couldda, shudda,wouldah :)
Actually with the penalty in the endzone it would have been placed at the 1 yard line plus when a EP or2PT conversion is attempted no time comes off the clock.

I agree that the rule book is frustrating but my interpretation of the rule is that it is placed at the 1. However knowing the NFL the rule will change constantly

That's why I couldn't give a mouse's rear-end about Pro Football....Give me College Football any day over Pro ball.

I much prefer the NFL to college football. I don't like the "one foot in bounds and it's complete" rule. Or the rule that if you fall down, the play is dead. Plus, players come and go so fast that you don't have time to get to know who they are, especially with such short seasons. And my biggest reason: Alabama is always the champion. Or someone from the SEC. Wisconsin never has a shot at the championship, even if they were to get a great record. To each their own I guess.

If Wisconsin would play some SEC teams then they might have a shot. :D

Hey...I went to Auburn...we went from National Champs to nothingness in two years. It happens.

I'm just tired of Wisconsin losing the bowl games. Or more specifically Rose Bowls. Three years in a row. Not even Barry could do it.

I agree with PUSH. Plus, I live closer to Baltimore than I do to one of the college teams, so I'd much rather cheer for an NFL team. Though I don't actually cheer for the college closest to me, University of Maryland. I cheer for the UCF Knights. My top college besides this small one in MD (I'm going to college in September). And the small college doesn't play in the big conferences...so yeah. UCF.

Maybe with the playoff system I'll get more interested in college football again. But the 'we have 3843 bowls' model completely turns me off. Plus, I'm still bitter towards Maryland football for their moves in the 90s. We goto most homecoming games.. and never go into the game. I don't think I've been in the stands but maybe twice since '93

So Chicago Bears' QB, Jay Cutler, proposed to his girlfriend via text message. o_O On top of that, he is apparently mailing her the engagement ring.

Allllllrighty then...?
