Next phase of MyMagic+ testing will remove the Key to the World Card

We visited from the UK end of July / August stayed at Old Key West, we were issued KTTW cards, but the system would not let them add our UK issued 14 day Ultimate passes to the KTTW cards, so ended up with Paper Park entry tickets.

Does anyone know if this issue will be addressed when using the new MM+ & MagicBands?
The MagicBands and RFID KTTW cards are just two different way of identifying your account. If there is a problem with one, it will be on the other. The key thing with MyMagic+ is having everything setup right on My Disney Experience. If things won't link in there, it won't work with either bands or the card.

So my brother who has paid £1000 less than me to stay off property will now also potentially get more fast pass than me (even though I have been able to secure some of mine) doesn't seem right
Actually he may not be able to get some of the paper FP's. Many as I did posted here that rides like TSMM, EE, HM, etc... did not have paper FP's available only an hour or two after park opening.

I bet the resort CMs are thrilled. I had a little trouble with the recessed doors at Pop and had to use my KTTW the first time.

I agree. This door pad should be on the door jam, and not on the actual door. It does make it difficult to use properly.

Am I reading this right? There is no option for a KTTW card for resort guests? It's MagicBand or nothing?

(polite font) Just get with the program:)

So for those of us who park hop every day of the trip are now screwed out of getting FP's the regular way when we go to a different park the 2nd half of the day? We are limited to the 3 on our Bands. We use more than 3 FP's per day, so this is really frustrating. I am also not happy about this.

Really hope we r still able to double dip in FP for our trip in 2 1/2 weeks! I not, no biggie seeig as how we all knew thy would not be giving out KTTW cards after a certain point, however this move seems pretty early. I will be very upset if I have issues with the band and don't hve a key card for back up, especially seeing as how I am on the dining plan. I would hate for the band not to work and I have to pay OOP for meals and get credited later...hope Disney is ready for this a I see it being a potential nightmare if issues r horrible...

It would appear that the default will not be the MagicBand. I still believe that the KTTW will be an option, but only if you request it. I'm sure there are people that will have reactions to the bands (of the allergic type) and they need to have an option for those people. And at this rate, in the very near future, there will be no need for the KTTW other than a safety blanket once the FP machines go bye bye.

There is a need for KTTW cards. For people like me, who will refuse to wear the bracelet.

And to think, just yesterday people on these forums were complaining about how the on-site guests have a better advantage with FP+ than off-site guests...

Nooooooooo! I arrive in 31 days and was basing my park plans on double-dipping. Confounded again!!

I planned on doing the same thing, but only used the KttW cards for extra FP's once or twice. It really wasn't that big of a deal to be able to do this.

You'd think they would get the MagicBands working consistently FIRST, before removing the "safety net" of the long-proven and more reliable KTTW card. I, for one, think that a system which so far functions "most of the time" at best, can't be considered truly functional.

Then again, I suppose it's cheaper to hire bodyguards for the Guest Relations employees who will be beset with angry hordes of glitchy MagicBand users, than it is to make all those plastic cards... ;)

Seems like this will work out well. LOL.

So what about locals that have an AP and a magic band? I know folks who have the bands because they've done a short resort stay, but also have an AP. When they enter the park during a visit where they aren't a resort guest, do they use their AP or the band? Do they still use fp "classic" when not staying at the resort?

During our trip (Last week) one night I had to use my KTTW to get in my room (Band wouldn't work, but did in the morning). Same day my wife couldn't use the band to pay for something.

I hope it's all or nothing. If I were staying at a resort and could only use the band, while someone staying at a different resort could use both, I'd be ticked.
