New videos of Upstairs Imageworks!

To be honest I don't think the upstairs was as great as people reminisce about, good in my opinion but nothing that spectacular! It's strange but sometimes when something's been gone a long time you have fonder memories of it than the reality of it, kind of like 'the good old days'. However, it's a crime that it's never been utilised and opened up again, surely something is better than nothing?

Would it really cost that much to open it up and add a few interactive elements again in the big scheme of budgeting a theme park? Surely they could market it positively and even throw in something Figment related which in return could make some money merchandise wise for those with a fondness for old times?

I'm surprised their isnt more preventing people from wandering around up there. If the guy in the video tripped and fell on anything and ended up injuring himself (even though it would be completely his fault) he would still get a lawsuit going against Disney and probably win. There were a few areas with poor lighting, I'm surprised cast members are allowed to wander there as well.

Exactly. It's Disney's property, and according to caselaw, they are liable because of the EASE of access to restricted areas, and any injuries that occur as a result. If it were a LOCKED door and he "broke in" then liability wouldn't be as clear.

Let's face it: people are nosy. They have a curiosity and Disney should know this. If they want to keep people out, they can, and it's not with a rope.

These videos and videos promoting people breaking laws are foolish. I wish Disney would throw the book at the people, and I use that term loosely, to teach them a lesson.

It's not "cool", its breaking the law.

I'm also covered in tattoos, so i guess I'm an attention seeker too .....
Nope. Having tats for your own enjoyment or hobby is not a sign of attention seeking. But having tats for the main purpose of showing off to others....yeah, that's a pretty big sign of narcississtic personality disorder (NPD). I actually paid attention somewhat in sociology class. Lol
Many companies will refuse to hire someone with flashy, visible tats, not because the art looks bad or offensive, but it is a sign of someone with levels of NPD which may not be wanted.

Isn't everybody narcissistic in some shape or form?

I have thankfully never faced any kind prejudice from a corporate company, and I have worked for some pretty large ones. I don't believe that it has the stigma that it once had. Plus I personally would not want to be associated with a company that would make such an assumption about a persons personalty in such a way.

Umm...Walt DisneyWorld?
But like I said, the art of having tats is perfectly fine, and doing so for your own personal enjoyment isn't the issue. It's the people who get tats as a form of show...that's the borderline between fun hobby and attention seeker. Most companies would only disregard a job candidate for visible tats, but could care less how many someone has that are kept outta sight. I've never heard of a company asking a candidate how many tats someone has as a job qualifier. But if there are visible tats showing when you walk into an interview...you'd be amazed at how many organizations would not even consider you.

I can totally understand why Disney ask you to cover your tattoos, but I am sure that you can see the odd glimpse of a tattoo under a uniform more now than in the past.

Thankfully I am established enough in my industry to not to worry about this happening to me in an interview, but I think that tattoos are much less of a concern now if you have the skills needed and the attitude that is right for the position.

If you have a giant tattoo on your face then maybe not, but I think you have pretty much made a decision that a "Corporate Job" isn't for you if that is your life choice anyway.

I assist people in landing jobs on a daily basis. Don't shoot the messenger... that's how many companies work. I personally don't care either way, and if I wrote the rule books nobody would ever be turned down due to a visible tattoo. But sadly reality paints a different picture. I'll say it a 3rd time: If you collect tattoos for your own personal enjoyment or for a hobby you love...that's perfectly fine. If you collect tats to show off to the world or make a statement to your peers...then it's an attention seeking measure, and I'd recommend getting help for NPD. The girl in the video which started this whole thing appeared to be suffering from the latter.

I believe the "sleazy girl with the tattoos" is an adult film actress.
I figured as much when someone mentioned her impressive lack of self-esteem. It was a funny comment, but a sad situation. :(

I didn't say "sleazy girl with the tattoos." I didn't mention tattoos at all. Another poster was talking about her own tattoos and personal problems, or possibly her lack of them. I said she looked sleazy and attention-seeking.

That girl looks so young to be mixed up in all that. So sad. :(. Shame on the people who take advantage of mixed up young girls!

I hope she gets some help. the best part of being young is the ability to turn it all around and have a good life.

For a park that want to transition a bit for the kids you would think that pavilion would be twice the size of what it used to be by now. They screwed up big time on that one.

getting back to the topic, I think the fact that Disney keeps this second level closed goes to the fact that they cut corners at every turn. As on of the other posters said, how much money could it possibly cost to get the second level back up and running? Poor show Disney, and what makes it even worse is alot of the original props and displays are still there collecting dust. Just another reason why I'm starting to consider spending my vacation dollars elsewhere (that, and the poor state of there E ticket rides; EE, Splash Mountain, Dinosaur)
