We control their paychecks. 1. They make rife changes to TIMELESS CLASSICS
2. We stop going to the park
3. They lose money.
4. They fix changes
5. People come back
Hit em where it hurts- their wallets. Their only power comes from money.
Yes no changes should ever be made.šŸ˜’ if every thing was taken to be perfect as it originally existed it would stagnate. Things can and should be improved. And no I’m not saying all change is good either but ā€œit’s a timeless classic!ā€ Is literally a better sounding way of saying ā€œah it’s fine the way it is we don’t need to spend money on that!ā€ Which so many people complain about Disney doing.

Why are you assuming this change will be bad? I’ve heard the extra verse literally take the existing soundtrack and add a few extra words also yes it still belongs to Disney like it or not
Keep making excuses bud. Only a matter of time until they get to the ride or attraction you do care about. If Rivers of America can go- nothing is safe. Keep staying positive for them. Only a matter of time.

I’m not ā€œmaking excusesā€ I’m using logic. I don’t defend Disney on everything I don’t like the rivers of America replacement. I don’t like the new haunted mansion bride. The Epcot middle sucks. It’s a crime they let Tomorrowland stagnate as long they have. The same applies to figment. I don’t like the design of the leader in Captain America: brave new World. I could go on and on.

It all started with the changes on Pirates. Then Splash. In WDW they are getting rid of Muppets and the Rivers of America.
You let them get away with it. You encouraged their changes to things you said were 'problematic' or 'no big deal'. Now it's open season. Current imagineers can't come up with anything new so they have to leave their mark on exisiting rides. Sooner or later they will get to an attraction you do care about.
Also ā€œcurrent imagineers not being able to come up with anything newā€ wouldn’t be more or less true if they decided not to replace rivers of America

I appreciate your opinion and passion for the things you believe. But someone sold you on this idea that you own the Disney Parks and personally have an impact on what they do with the Parks.

ā€œWeā€ on this site have no control over anything except ourselves, especially not the buying power of the Millions of visitors every year to the Disney Parks.

If you aren’t interested in the changes that Disney is doing then don’t go, it will leave more room for the others that do want to go.

As for the rest, long ago I accepted that I have no control over what a business does with their property. I don’t own it, they do. And once I realized that then changes don’t impact me personally anymore.

Also this thread is about adding an additional verse to a rides song. A song about spreading peace around the world. It’s not some travesty they are adding a verse written by the same song writer who wrote the original. So maybe take it down a notch.

Yes. if anything you could consider this a restoration of the designer’s original creative vision

Disney is a Empire. Pretty simple really. You laughed at my comment if we stop going to the parks when they make dum changes to classic rides then they will lose money and stop making changes. You left a laugh emoji. I responded. You laugh at my comment. World history laughs at you.
I laughed at your comment as it gave me a chuckle, sorry I didn't realize that your comment making me laugh would affect you.

Anyways, again what does any of this have to do with an additional verse being written by the Sherman Brothers being added to a ride about spreading world peace? You obviously are very passionate about Disney. But I don't see this change as something controversial. How is this anything other than enhancing the attraction? Are you against spreading a message about world peace or something? This is honestly the most on-brand change Disney has done to one of their attractions in decades.

So again I say maybe take it down a notch as I don't think anything you're talking about is related to this change. Maybe start a different thread to air out all your grievances, I'm sure you'll get lots of posters participating.

I like the idea of honoring a Disney legend like Richard Sherman but I’m assuming they will have to re-record new vocals to accomplish this which means we lose the original recordings so that’s a scary thought with the current people running things. Risk/ Reward isn’t there for me. For what, to get a couple more lines that nobody will really hear or pay attention to anyway? IASW needs a lot of love but a soundtrack change isn’t one of them. Yes let’s mess with that beautiful recording from the 60s while I’m still staring at ceiling tiles and dirty carpet.

I wonder how many new rides could have paid for themselves with all the money they have spent downgrading things that were fine?
I am also worried about them maybe using AI to recreate the older voices instead of hiring sound-alike kids and using voice filters through a DAWS like Logic. :(

it's weird that they announced this with no mention of the new small world verse - also no updates on walt disney: a magical life, and neither are mentioned in the 70th anniversary guide
Likely because it was already highlighted previously on the blog and both verse and show are debuting on the birthday rather than the start of the 70th.
