New TOT Drops Early

Rode TOT twice yesterday, and I'm almost positive I experienced the new drop sequence both times. I have ridden TOT probably close to 40-50 times, and have never gotten such a drop sequence.

What caught my attention most, was a false end to the ride, where when you think its over, the ghosts appear on screen, and the elevator shoots up again for a finale drop.

Perhaps I just never got this ending and its nothing new, but I'm almost sure this is the new drop sequence for summer night-tastic.

Can anybody verify/dismiss this?

Not to be too nitpicky.... but shouldn't there be some sort of labels on each of the four drop profiles, per the link earlier in the thread, that one can use to identify the profile?

Such as: False ending - w ghosts

They've got labels. They're "One," "Two," "Three," and "Four." :animwink:

as i was reading this i thought you ment it drops you, stops like you're at the bottom, then drops again. They should dig out another 6stories below the 1st floor for even more thrills!

I have not been as detailed in my analysis as Steve's charts, but I know the ending you are talking about, and I think it is the "rarest" of the profiles if that makes you feel any better. I would say we experience that about 1/15th of the time, roughly.

Nothing rare about it; each profile is random. You have a 25% chance of seeing it.

Chance is a funny thing; on one of my visits last year I was hoping to see the mannaquin profile, having only ever seen it once. I then proceeded to have it 4 times in a row in both Echo and then Foxtrot.

Apart from during T&A each profile is selected by the RCS in the seconds that the AGV locks into the VVC. Up until then not even the ride knows what will happen.

Well, that is something! We rarely seem to get the "false ending". I guess our sample size isn't great enough, though...

Yup.. Having well over 200 drops to my name, I've seen that profile many of times.. from what I understand, the new drop profiles with be integrated sometime in mid/late May, right before summer nightastic starts.

apparently the existing 4 profiles will remain, and an additional 2 will be added..

For the record, the new lighting and special effects that will be added to ToT aren't even at the ToT site yet.

Coincidentally, they filed the permit today to start this work (or so I presume). I just added it to the Permits thread, but here is a direct link to the filing.

The filing was made by Ermco, which is Disney's primary electrical contractor (I had the pleasure of working for their home office here in Indiana for a summer during college). So, since it's for the Tower, and it was filed by the premiere electrician, I am just assuming it's for the lighting upgrade.

Yay!
