It's not as purple as I thought it was going to bid but I still find it odd looking.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this. But the Pressed Pennies at the Tommorowland Speedway were just updated last week 9/22. They removed the 4 deigns that shows Indy Speedway. The new designs have new characters and only have Magic Kingdom and Walt Disney World on them. All references to Indy Speedway have been removed.
Here's the new designs.
Maybe they are moving away from the Indy design and changing speedway to something different as far as theming? or Maybe not. I just thought it was weird.

I'll have to check it out this Sat 10/1. LOL
The Tomorrowland Indy Speedway lost it's Indy references quite a while ago. That's why it is now the Tomorrowland Speedway. The only other references are on the Cast Member costumes and any other themeing remnants.

Hm...oddly enough I like simplicity of the plain grass as a replacement for the old sago palms on the island. Wonder if that's permanent or just a temporary filler until new plants are put in place.

It should be permanent. It looked like a jungle before. Landscaping changes in the front as well as the inside plus repainting the buildings and adding a new ride in the early 20's in the back of the land would make this a very very good land.

They're testing lighting on The Carousel of Progress. What needs to happen next obviously is new landscaping for the land and entrance buildings repainted.

Metallic blue against purple kind of feels one palette to me. There needs to be some contrast or it all washes out.
And the teal roof is a clash point.

Good words. All I could come up with was, "it feels off" maybe these are the reasons. I also get a very artificial feeling from this color rocks. Not alien, or futuristic, but artificial. Maybe that's the future? Artificial rocks?

I looooove the new looks of the rocks!! I feel like they fit the actual space-theme of the area than the original Mars dirt looking rocks... Simply because the rest of the land is filled with shiny metallic structures and various shades of blue and whatnot. I like this change! ^_^

I really really like it. Very futuristic. Really hoping the rest of the land gets a proper upgrade. UGH I hate waiting. I wish they'd announce something already....
